It boasts three ED (extra-low dispersion) glass elements and one SR (short-wavelength refractive) element. The SR element’s specialized high-dispersion design refracts wavelengths shorter than blue, ensuring accurate color rendering and contributing to a more compact lens design.
The multi-focus system integrates two synchronized AF drive units, ensuring exceptionally rapid and precise autofocus. Stepping motors power this system, delivering remarkably smooth and quiet autofocus performance suitable for both stills and video applications. Additionally, full-time manual focus override is available. The lens employs an internal focusing design, moving only the internal lens groups during focusing.
