Title: Really fun shrink plastic kit.
Review: I love making shrink plastic charms. The plastic seemed like decent quality. If you’re making projects with fine details it does split a little when you cut if your scissors aren’t sharp enough or you cut too closely. I cooked these in a small toaster at 325 on a parchment paper covered baking sheet, and I don’t know why it happened, but the results are a little warped. It still turned out cute, but not the way I thought they would. I might have to lower the temperature, I will have to test it. To use these you want to draw on the sanded side. For the ones that I made I used acrylic paint markers. I find that acrylic markers and colored pencils work best on these and provide vibrant colors. This kit comes with really nice accessories for making keychains and earrings. I think this kit is a fun family activity, it’s easy to do, and they do work well. Try not to panic when you see them curling up too much, just leave them in the oven and they typically flatten. After you get them out it’s good to have an object ready to press on top of them. I use a thick marble tile, but you can use any flat somewhat heavy object.

Title: Work well but lack instructions
Review: I hate taking stars off, but these craft kits are not always well designed. First of all, why don’t they ever come with comprehensive instructions? It did come with accurate time/temp directions, but that was it. We had to google which side of the “paper” to color on. We couldn’t figure out what some of the keychain pieces were for. There was also a really uneven amount of different keychains, so I’m thankful that my campers aren’t the argumentative types. It doesn’t say what kind of markers to you, so we had to google that as well. One nice thing is that it came with its own hole punch for making the keychains. They also did work really well once we knew what to do.

Title: Just as fun as I remember!
Review: I had a voltron set of shrinks back in the day and I loved them so much. When I saw these I had to get them for my school aged kids! They had a blast making things with these! Great kit! You get a lot and it works well. Very fun to see the kids have to think 4th dimensionally when they are creating things that they know will shrink! Some great applied science!

Title: Use a lower temperature!
Review: These are definitely fun to play around with- my 4 year old (and myself) loved them! My issue with these is the lack of instructions. I have never done shrinky dinks before. Literally, the only instructions are “draw and color, cut, punch a hole, bake and shrink for 1-2 minutes on 302-320F, and finish”. It doesn’t explain which side of the paper to draw on (it’s the frosted side) and it didn’t tell us what kind of markers to use. We tried washable markers and permanent markers, both of them come off on your hands, but the permanent did stay better. About half of our shrinky dinks came out curved, and warped. We took a drinking glass and tried to flatten them immediately out of the oven, and they just firm up too quickly. The 300F oven worked well at first, but once the oven fully heated, we realized it’s just too hot for the shrinky dink paper- it comes out so warped. When we put the oven on 280F, it worked so much better! I do recommend the lower temperature. The odor from the cooking was very minimal and very tolerable. Overall these are fun to play with, and had a lot of fun making things with them!

Title: Perfect for Creative Rainy Days
Review: I love that the sheets are blank, allowing kids to let their imaginations run wild by drawing freehand or tracing their favorite designs. The kit includes everything needed to transform their creations into keychains, charms, or earrings. Just keep in mind that you will need to supply your own markers, as they are not included. It’s a fun and creative activity with endless possibilities!

Title: Good Quality
Review: We haven’t opened these yet as we will do them as a summer craft this coming week. One thing I can definitely say about this product is that all the keychains and accessories pieces are really nice quality! I also plan on saving a few for my daughter to make some as Christmas presents later this year for family members. So these are great for arts & crafts, great for kids to make as presents and great for imaginations!Will update next week once we make a few.

Title: Great craft for kids
Review: This kit is pretty comprehensive, comes with key rings, earrings, necklaces, the hole punch needed, and more. Shrinky Dinks has been around a long time, used it when I was a kid, and loved it. It is a great craft for children. And with 25 sheets, this kit supports many projects over time. Makes a very nice gift for a child, an afternoon project party, a craft with a long history of fun. Nice quality, very pleased.

Title: Affordable getting started kit
Review: This kit includes everything you need to start making shrinky dink keychains except markers. At $15 and including 25 plastic sheets, this is a good deal. I already have some empty key rings and magnets, so I value having more sheets over the “extras” like chains or clips. The hole punch is sharp and cuts through the plastic easily. The sheets are ready to use and don’t require any sanding.
