Title: excellent anthology. warmest sound i’ve heard on any poco …
Review: excellent anthology. warmest sound i’ve heard on any poco cds. vocals sound better. except for “bad weather”. wish they had included “keep on believing”. it’s one of my two favorite poco songs. has three excellent poco songs i haven’t heard before. and the only discs i know with the studio version of “hard luck”, which is why i bought them. very happy with this reissue. skipped the original version from 1990, due to reviews mentioning poor sound. this import reissue from 2014 definitely has great sound.

Title: Poco’s amazing musical trail should not be forgotten.
Review: A terrific retro look at the first six years of Poco’s tumultuous, decades long career. Two discs filled to the brim with studio, live, and previously unreleased (as of 1990) highlights, The Forgotten Trail 1969-74 is a pure joy from start to finish. A couple of hours of continuous country-rock pioneer nirvana that traces the band’s career ups and downs, changing commercial fortunes, and frequent personnel changes. Founding members Randy Meisner, Jimmy Messina and Richie Furay exit in that order at different stages; Meisner replaced by Timmy Schmit, Messina by Paul Cotton, Furay by nobody. After Richie leaves, Poco carries on — strongly and determined — as an amazingly supple four-piece band, never missing a step as each member rises to the occasion in filling Furay’s songwriting shoes. It’s a great rock ‘n’ roll story of a great little band that should’ve gained much more in the way of fame, fortune, and critical acclaim. The full five out of five stars and heartily recommended to fans of Poco, Loggins & Messina, early Eagles, and ’70s country-rock in general.

Title: Cold Enchilada #3
Review: Odd Double Wide packaging compared to the other version on Amazon which I got for $16.99 which was the thickness of a normal single CD case with more crisp artwork and more stories and Poco History… As far as the music I’ll be listening to this into the heart of the night! Lots of great relics for Poconuts. Can’t wait to see them again in a few months with Jim Messina, but you better think twice before you decide to buy the cheaper one haha

Title: Poco Scores!
Review: This is one of the best collection I have heard in a long time. A great way for those who loved Poco during their early years to reconnect and rediscover the groups wonderful sound and energy. For those who want to find out what they’re about, this is just an awesome way to go.

Title: Simply Awesome
Review: As someone not introduced to Poco until the release of Rose of Cimarron (1976)and Indian Summer (1977), I had no idea what I had been missing. And while Timothy B. Schmit is awesome with “Keep On Tryin'”, “Starin’ At The Sky”, and “Me And You” (all released after 1974 and found on “Poco Gold”), the music of Messina, Cotton, Furay and Young is timeless. I’m not sure anyone who didn’t grow up in the 70’s listening to country rock can understand this, but you can’t own too much Poco haha. If I was on a deserted island and could only have one bands music, I would have to choose Poco over Marshall Tucker Band because of the expansive collection and variety of styles they provided over 3 decades. This is an awesome collection of earlier works.

Review: Gran parte de lo mejor de POCO, sus primeros discos con Richie Furay. Algún directo censurable pero buen nivel de conjunto.Conocà a POCO por Rose of Cimarron. Este doble es superior, claramente.

Review: Early Poco I don’t know….I came aboard with “A Good Feeling to Know”….This will round out my needs to experience the band at their genesis. Timreally showed his stuff using the Poco brand to reach higher heights withthe “Eagles”….I love watching success! The only way to express my opinionabout this 2 CD set is to wait till delivery and UPDATE….MARCH 15th 2013….The price has hit a new high since I ordered. This is a minor “collectors item”.I’ve got a copy so that means….I’m covered! Lots of the material on thesetwo discs is sold as BGO 2Fer Remasters. This one is “old school”…..
