Title: DON’T BUY THIS !!!
Review: I was looking for a Black Stainless Air Fryer Toaster oven for under the cabinets (NOT a taller one), and this one seemed the only one that fit all those features. I DID read the negative reviews, but I could NOT believe a company like Toshiba would purposely be selling a product with all those problems, so I took the risk. Well, it LOOKS great, BUT… I am not going to waste more time re-listing what all the other reviewers have already tried to warn you about. This is, bar none, the most incredibly poor operations system I have EVER had in an appliance. I don’t care how many times you re-read the convoluted usage directions…you will NEVER get it right, and as other reviewers have stated, it is because IT IS IMPOSSIBLE to make this thing do what the directions tell you will work. So that should cover every aspect of cooking. The flat cookie sheet pan, once it gets even the smallest of cooking stains on it, STINKS LIKE IT’S ON FIRE ITSELF from then on. That noise folks talk about? IT IS A TERRIBLE SCREECHING HIGH-PITCHED WHINE, AND IT STAYS THAT WAY. My husband is about ready to chuck this thing out on the front lawn. Until I find one that fills all my listed requirements, I will continue to try to understand how this worthless machine works, but since I’ve been trying for 3 months already, I don’t foresee that happening. Buy at your own risk…and don’t expect all these bad review reasons listed not to happen with yours!

Title: Poor quality control and customer service
Review: Love the unit and the price. However… now I know why it got returned by a previous owner or multiple owners. The interior rack, air fry basket, and roasting tray are all too small in width so that they will jot glide in the side rails if the oven. HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE? Then, when I contacted customer support via the chat bot, they just apologize and want to set me up with a refund. Sigh. The oven itself is pristine and never used. It’s the rack, tray, and basket that are not sized properly to the specs if the inside if the oven. I don’t want to return it; I want the correctly sized rack, tray, and basket. I guess I will search for some myself. The quality control is lacking, and the customer service is poor.

Title: Don’t toss the manual
Review: It’s not a “common sense to use” item like my microwave so I have to use the manual every single time. I hate cooking. With this, I still hate cooking. It is nicely built and attractive on the countertop. Nothing wrong with it. I’d recommend to anyone interested in cooking. I like that it saves so much counter space.

Title: Glass front does not stay closed
Review: [ This is my original review. See UPDATE below where I received a full refund from Toshiba/Midea ]Within the 30-day Prime free return window, the spring on the glass front seemed quite weak. When the oven was cold the door front barely stays closed, and when the oven was particularly hot (e.g. during Air Fry) it would have to be physically nudged shut. But within days after the return window ended, the door will not stay shut during Air Fry any more. Video demonstration is attached.The user interface is particularly bad, but that wasn’t enough of a problem to return the oven during the return window. Especially annoying is the inability to increase the timer past a small limit on some oven functions, and the fiddly way the user is required to change Air Fry programs. Nothing on the screen clearly indicates how to select Air Fry programs A01 thru A08 or what those programs do once selected. Yes, the information is in the manual, but if you’re not air-frying frequently you’ll forget wassup.When we baked some cookies in the oven with the temperature set to 325F, the heating rods never shut off, resulting in semi-burnt cookie-bottoms. A first world problem for sure, but not what we expected from our new oven.On a positive note, this toaster oven does heat food and the interior capacity is generous, but that’s not enough to compensate for its other flaws.RECOMMENDATION: DO NOT BUY.*** UPDATE late August 2021 **** Although the Prime return window had closed, I contacted Toshiba customer support (actually provided by an organization named “Midea”) and did receive a full refund. Upgrading from one to two stars.Initially I was instructed by a customer service rep to upload my video of the front door defect and wait for a response. After a few days I received an email telling me that I would receive a refund but that I had to call customer service first. Expected the worst (long hold times, disconnects, bouncing from one rep to another) but it was fairly quick to simply confirm my name and address where a check would be mailed. The check arrived after a couple of weeks and didn’t bounce when I deposited it into my account.There was no requirement to return the unit and no fees deducting from the full refund of every penny I had spent on the oven. In the end it was a good experience receiving support from a reputable distributor. Thanks Midea!

Title: Lousy door – Amazon will not accept it as a return – Asurion Insurance can not be used
Review: As soon as we took it out of the box the hinges for the door seemed sticky. Last night we open the oven door and now the door will not close. I took out Asurion insurance from Amazon, but Amazon tells me it is still covered under the manufacturers warranty. It is not eligible to return because too much time has passed since I received it. However it is too soon to use the Asurion insurance. I just want my money back for a defective product.

Review: We bought this just over a year ago. We were first sent the wrong model and had to fight with Amazon to get it replaced with the correct model at the price we paid for it. Lasted just over a year. Had to argue with Toshiba to get a refund. We were never very happy with it. The size was decent. The controls were always a bit of a struggle. It was also very noisy – fan issues. Of course it may just be the one we received was just defective.
