Title: Great piece of furniture, Terrific instructions!
Review: I have put together dozens of pieces of furniture, and I figured this one would be the most difficult because of all the drawers. It took me awhile, but, hands down, the best instructions ever –thorough, great drawings (and videos!) and concise. Step by step and everything was beautifully packed, engneered and labled right down to the smallest screws . I always completely unpack the piecces, make sure everything is there, take a look at all the hardware, then briefly read through the instructions. Went like clock work, all by myself (but did need my husband to help place the top). Please note that the drawers will probably need adjustment once they’re in their box, but that is explained too, right at the end. Writing instructions is an unsung talent and I so appreciated these (and the fact that I only needed one Phillips head screw driver for he entire task. ) The end result is a beautiful and sturdy piece of furniture. I will purchase Sauder pieces again because, in addition to the aforementioned, I also appreciate their construction ethics.

Title: Beautiful desk……Ignore the negative reviews!
Review: For $169 this is an absolutely fabulous desk. Assembly was very simple and instructions were absolutely spot on. Yes, it took a couple hours to assemble, but that is why it is solid as a rock when complete. Most of the negative reviews just make me chuckle, people just don’t read or follow instructions and expect it to turn out properly!! One even posted a photo of a drawer they said didn’t fit………..they had the front on upside down!!!! Another complained they were expecting actual hardwood and not pressed chipboard, for $169 dollars???? Really??? A desk of this quality built from solid hardwood would cost you in the neighborhood of $1500 -2000. Others complained the instructions were hard to follow or parts were not labeled. Not true. I followed the instructions word for word and step for step and everything went together perfectly on the first try. Every part that needed to be was labeled correctly and assembly was a snap. You won’t find a better quality desk for this price anywhere!

Title: Nice looking desks!
Review: As others have said, the completed desk is worth it in the end! We bought one and struggled to put it together – all our fault. I needed to not only read the directions, but also pay close attention to the pictures. I had to call once to Sauder, again my fault, and the rep was very responsive. A couple of weeks later, we decided to order another desk, so we had matching desks. Second time putting it together was much easier, and even then, I made some mistakes, but we completed it in half the time as the first. Interestingly, we had a problem with one handle on each desk. Sauder was very responsive and replaced them right away.The desk drawers were very easy to adjust, which really impressed me. I like the way the file drawers are side facing, not front facing. They hold a lot of files and can be adjusted for letter or legal size. We are happy with our purchase and highly recommend.Last words of advice: Allocate a significant amount of time to put the desk together so you do not feel rushed; pay very close attention to the directions and the pictures – they are well written directions; and call Sauder if you need help, but they are only available during the week. Enjoy your finished product!

Title: Came cracked! **Edited!
Review: Nice style, “wood” finish is a textured photo finish on press board. Looks like real wood until you’re close. Instructions well written-think Ikea with English. Love that each piece and parts bags labeled. Seemed to be packed well BUT the desk top itself was cracked, not flexing crack but visual crack.***Edited- chatted with Sauder customer service and they are sending a replacement desk top! I have moved my review up from 2 stars to 4. Very nice customer service, hopefully the new top will come to us unscathed. Thank you Sauder Customer Service!****2nd edit- the replacement top arrived in a very cushioned container & the desk top is perfect. Can’t say enough about the great customer service. Thanks again!

Title: Sauder products have come a long way since I last purchased one!
Review: This desk had many features I wanted so I decided to give it a try. The box arrived in fair condition and was incredibly heavy. It was so heavy that the average husband/wife team may not be able to safely handle it.I unpacked the contents and was surprised there was no damage at all. Assembly of this item is not easy, however if you follow the directions VERY carefully you can get it done correctly in a couple hours. The hardest part for me was attaching the desk top to the lower unit. There are many holes and pins to get lined up. What ended up working for me was starting on one end then working my way to the other end adjusting the lower assembly into correct alignment as I went.I put felt type furniture glides on the 8 legs so they would not scratch my LVP flooring. I also added a nice metal center desk drawer to my desk (purchased separately) that I also found on Amazon.The only real concern I have is that I would not recommend lifting the desk by its top. I fear it may separate from the lower unit due to the weight of everything especially if it was loaded with stuff.

Title: Sturdy desk
Review: First review of item purchased.1. Box is very heavy when delivered, so careful when moving to area where you are going to assemble.2. Follow instructions exactly as in booklet and you should have no problems assembling desk.3. Can be assembled alone, but 2 people would be easier, especially when you get to putting the top of desk in place to line up the pegs.4. You only need a manual screwdriver, but a small power screwdriver helps alot with the longer screws. Didn’t need hammer as suggested in instructions.5. The only drawbacks were that one of the parts didn’t have the alignment holes for the drawer slide.(They will be shipping out a new one and will be getting it soon. That is no problem cause we like the look of the desk and price.) AND we had one small chip on a part corner, but we should be able to glue it and it will not be noticeable.Overall a great product and looks nice and does not feel flimsy, we were very surprised as had seen others at local office supply stores that didn’t compare for the price.
