Title: Excellent Quality, Recycled Materials, and Sturdy Wheels
Review: After many hours and deliberation over other carry-on luggage, I kept finding myself with doubts over all of the others that I found. Even really well known name brands seemed to have issues with hard to find replacement parts or warranty issues. Then I stumbled on this carry on from a brand I already know and own several other bags of. Osprey is well-known for making extremely reliable backpacking bags that can take an abuse. And Osprey also has a well-known Warranty that they honor. It doesn’t matter where you obtained the bag, how old it is, or why it broke. Contact them, send them your bag, and they will repair it for you either free of charge or for a very minimal fee. Good luck finding any other company that makes luggage with that kind of warranty that they are known for honoring.Materials:This is not a hard shell and it’s not a soft side either, it’s both. It has the benefit of hard shell on one side, and soft side on the other, and is expandable if not being used as a carry-on. The soft side is made from 100% recycled materials with YKK zippers. The main luggage compartment uses zippers that are larger than a normal zipper and has a very sturdy feel to it.Wheels:The roller wheels (8 in quantity) on it are much larger than other luggage I’ve owned, are hard plastic, with sturdy looking metal framing holding it to the luggage. Inside, each wheel looks to be easily replaced. The wheels easily roll in any direction on both hard floor and carpet.Handles:The handle on the top is made of a hard plastic type material and is very sturdy and flat against the luggage. On one side there also is an extra handle for lifting the carry-on into an overhead bin. The handle on the side is made of a fabric material.Extendable Handle:This is perhaps the only even potential weak point anywhere in the design of this luggage. There is some amount of flex when you twist the extended handle. The metal itself seems sturdy. I get the feeling when this luggage eventually fails, this would possibly be the point that it would fail. With that said, The amount of twist is not substantial and does not leave me with the thought that it definitely would fail. I am not knocking a star off this as I don’t definitively think that it would fail. If it fails some day in the future, I’ll come back and update this review.Pockets:The outer pocket has a padded pocket that barely fits my 16″ MacBook Pro. When I say barely, I do mean barely. I have to carefully pull the zippered edge around the edges of my laptop, but it does work and fit. Also in that same outer pocket there are three stretch pockets, and one zippered pocket. But I would be skeptical that you’d reasonably get much in them and still still have your carry-on fall under proper dimensions to still be a carry-on. The pocket on the top of the luggage seems to be for a TSA approved clear bag for toiletries. But the pouch only seems to roughly be able to fit a quart bag half filled and folded in half. It is worth mentioning that anything you put in this pocket directly pushes into the main luggage compartment.Main Luggage Compartment:This compartment is split into two halves. Seemingly, this is so that you can keep your clean laundry on the larger side, and your dirty laundry on the other side. Admittedly though, the “other side” is much thinner wouldn’t hold but a fraction of the clothes the main compartment would. There is no liner on the main compartment, which in my eyes is a plus. The liners on other luggage I’ve used seemed an unnecessary accoutrement that inevitably would get dirty and be difficult or impossible to clean. At least this way, it’s hard plastic and could simply be wiped clean if it gets dirty.Accessories:I did buy a couple TSA combination locks for the two outer double zippers for the outer pocket and the main luggage compartment. The inner pair of zippers once you open the luggage up does not have loops for a lock. In addition, I bought a 22″ luggage cover, and some luggage cross-straps just in case coming back from my trip I end up using the unzip expansion section and have to check the luggage.Build Quality & Impressions:The build quality is superb. It felt sturdy and well built immediately upon removal from its packaging. There are no bad stitches that I could find (and I looked close!), all the zippers worked really well. I was pleasantly surprised regarding the main luggage zipper being oversized. The wheels seemingly are better than any other luggage I’ve ever owned in decades. I dond’t think I’ll ever have problems with them. The material that they used on the soft portion of the luggage feels really strong like it would repel potential scratching and likely is water resistant. The hard portion of the luggage, while it feels really strong, I suspect if you checked the luggage and were unlucky enough to have it caught up in a handling machine, would probably end up dented. But under carry-on conditions, it feels more than sturdy enough. I tried to push down on the hard plastic at the edges and was unable to make the plastic flex at all.Final thoughts:I’ve been pleasantly surprised at the excellent build of every Osprey pack I’ve ever owned, and this carry-on luggage does not disappoint. It’s made by an company well known for making bags that have to withstand some of the harshest conditions in the wild on Earth. And it’s backed by an industry leading warranty that to the best of my knowledge, no other company matches. And they actually honor their warranty claims, no matter where you purchased the bag, whether you have a receipt or not. Yes, the bag is a little more expensive than I initially budgeted. But after purchase, I feel this bag warrants the price and will likely give me years of trouble-free use. If my experience changes, I’ll make sure to come back and update this review.If you are thinking about buying it: DO IT! This is about as perfect of a bag and company as you are going to find in this price range.

Title: Poor quality; no real warranty; design very limiting
Review: I purchased this rolling suitcase to replace a well worn carry-on.From the carry-on sizing limits, the suitcase fits well if you don’t over stuff it.The design is the strange part about this case – it is hard and very soft. Unlike a piece of soft-side luggage that if stiff, but flexible, this one is rigid on the back and has no support on the front. It is very difficult to pack well into it because it has an odd separator for the back. Forget packing cubes. Because of the shape, you will need to just put in individual items or will lose a great deal of space.Odd design aside, I purchased it because I thought it would be durable. Looking at the materials and the wheels, I thought I would spend the extra money and get something that would last a long time as a carry-on.That was completely wrong.There is something unbalanced about the wheels. When walking through the airport on a smooth hard surface floors, my travel companions are walking silently with their rolling bags while mine is clickety clacking very loudly on the same smooth surface They even commented about knowing exactly where I was in the restroom because they could hear my bag rolling every step of the way. This was on the very first trip ever made with the bag so the issues were when it was brand new.I contacted the manufacturer for repair/replacement and after a month, I have heard nothing.

Title: Weak Telescopic Handle, Gets Weighted By Many International Airlines Overseas
Review: Great bag as long as you are aware of a couple of minor issues. Buy it!We purchased two of these in March, 2023 and took them travelling across much of East and SE Asia. We visited both developed and developing countries. From the beginning this otherwise Wonderful bag gave us headaches and eventually it gave us the biggest headache of all when a porter managed to pull-off the plastic top of its telescopic handle half way through our travels!Pros:1. Stylish2. Smooth, Sturdy rollers that can handle most any crazy surface without blinking, including getting dragged over soft beach sand, wet cobble stones with big puddles (missing stones), etc.3. You can load tons of stuff in another bag on top and place it on the flat top of this bag and the bag and the wheels take it.4. Voluminous5. The top zipper for your cellphone, wallet, etc. right before the security x-ray…. Yes!6. The Flat top that you can set most things on (be careful as your cellphone could slip)7. Sturdy zippers (that should be smoother at this price)Cons:0. The Main compartment does not fully open thus making it very difficult to access whatever you have in the bottom of the bag. I understand this is to “protect” the area from stuff, but lets face it: those wheels place the bottom an inch above whatever they are rolling over and if you are traveling through water / mud that deep, you have bigger problems to worry about. And a Good Zipper (with a proper Flap cover in front and back will likely take the temporary punishment and protect your stuff). I’ll take the access Any Time. Now getting dragged through Sand…. Yep: Give me a cover flap over the zippers. (note that you would be dragging it on the back 2 wheels as it would be practically impossible to go 4 wheeling in soft sand, but you might stand it up here and there)1. The “paint” on neither bags was fully dry when we set-off a couple of weeks after we received the bags so the front of both got scuffed! A couple of months later and the paint was fully cured and just about nothing would scuff it! So, get it early and let it sit and dry in a corner for a couple of months Before you start to travel and then it’ll look pretty for a very long time!2. The plastic top of the telescopic handle is attached to the metallic part very weakly. They need a Much, Much stronger joint: More material from the plastic handle side, etc. Better yet: Use a Metal Core for the plastic handle so that the attachment is metal-to-metal, using Big bolts going through Thick metal. Lord knows how many times we’ve lifted our similar Thule carry-on (that we use as a check bag) that always weighs ~25kg (55-60 lb) and often with something else weighing ~10kg (22 lb) on top of it using its telescopic handle – to get it up the stairs, over a barrier, etc. (not using its wheels to drag, rather physically lifting the whole bag using its telescopic handle, because we are in a rush and don’t have time to switch, or free hands, etc.) At the time the porter tried to lift the bag with its telescopic handle, the core weighed ~7kg (15.5 lb) and there was a shopping bag of similar weight on top of it. The porter tried to lift the whole thing up that way to walk up half a flight of stairs and the handle came off immediately! I would not have expected this to happen to a bag of this price. Poor engineering (says the Mechanical Engineer!)3. The front flap doesn’t fully open. Don’t know why! It very much lowers the accessibility to whatever you put in here and thus its utility.4. Cannot easily lock the front zippers (have to use the holes in the Plastic zipper pulls! Seriously?)5. Be Very Careful putting this bag on top of your other bags on a cart as if it falls on its corner wheel, it will most likely Bend it (as it did us). A reasonably strong person can bend it back, but it will most likely Never go straight again until it is replaced6. RMA turn around is ~8 weeks now. End user replacement parts (the only thing that they’ll send) have a 5 week turn-around! They will not send anything that needs to be sown (understandably)7. All Roll-on carryons target you for getting your carry-on weighted by most international airlines and given how heavy this bag is Empty, oh boy: You’ll need to play musical chairs with your camera, batteries, etc. and place them into a travel jacket of many pockets before check in and then transfer them back into the bag (I just shove the whole jacket in there) afterwards and out of the view of the check-in counter. Although, I think that in Kuala Lumpur the AirAsia people had setup a scale right before security! So I had to yank my jacket back out very quickly! ROFL. I am tired of this so I’ve sent in my broken bag for RMA repair and have purchased a much cheaper amazon.com/dp/B0C65JPFF2 ’21x14x9 Rolling Backpack with Wheels – Water-Resistant, 17.3″ Laptop Compartment, Ideal Carry-On’ that weighs 2.7 kg (6 lb) and hope that it’ll do the trick until I get my Osprey back. Depending on how my travels with that bag goes, I just might park the Osprey or gift it to someone traveling domestically (or at least not on Qatar, AirAsia, etc)!I really Love this bag except during the airline check-in process for certain airlines. I think that 99+% of Amazon’s buyers will NOT have our unique situation. And now that I know NOT to let Anyone lift the bag by the telescopic handle (it was the porter) with something else on top, I am sure that I wouldn’t have any issues there, either. Afterall, our other bag is just fine (except for where a rat chewed the top of its internal webbing because I didn’t fully zip-up its top while thinking “gee, I wonder if there are any mice or rats running around in this partially open to the great outdoors A/C’d dive bungalow on this remote tiny island in East Timor” – eh – there were!)

Review: I like the size and weight. Lots of pockets. The main zipper was tough to move past the corner. I like the big wheels as it’s easy to move and stable. The fabric is not as durable as I expected. I was asked to check my new carry on bag as the plane was full. There are scrapes on the front now from the conveyor belt I suspect.

Review: Love this bag – even struggle a bit with the main compartment zipper – especially the bottom corners are a bit fight. Got it as my “office back” for Eurostar trips – as I like to walk around cities and use a lot public transport – so far this bag is pretty great on those activities running with me around town throughout the day. My mobile office / light travel bag is stylish and working nicely. Like the hybrid style – can transport fragile stuff placed/packed by the hard shell part and yet have a flexibility to adjust anything “odd shaped” with the top flexible side. Clever design feature.

Review: My first reaction to the plastic wheels was: Wow these are loud and cheap. However, this feeling disappeared after my first few business trips – because the wheels are noisy on certain surfaces, people can hear something coming behind them and if you are someone who actively walks through an airport, this is a godsend to get lazy/slow people to step out the way for your noisy bag. This bug is now a feature :)Things I like:+ Good quality materials+ Excellent handle+ Expandable nature is fantastic for a coat, but also for compressing a bag downThings that I don’t like:- almost a dealbreaker but the too pocket is almost useless for anyone with big hands, the previous osprey top pockets were perfect for keys, cables powerbanks, as a kind of catchall. This is too narrow and tight and small to be functional – poor execution of design.- The Tarpaulin material in black scuffs easily and not as long lived as their previous generation of grey Tarpaulin from the previous transportersIf the top pocket was fixed, I would probably upgrade to 5 stars.
