The game features cutesy graphics, works well, and offers a variety of recipes, with one customer mentioning it covers different types of seafood. Title: Very Fun!
Review: I ordered this game a couple of weeks ago. I must admit ever since then I’ve enjoyed it. I would not reccomend this game if you like fast-paced action games. If you are one of those who enjoy fast-paced games, this game may not be for you. But I definetly love it!In the game you have to cook different dishes. Each dish you have a different set of “instructions” So for one there may be “chopping” “boiling” “pooring water”…etc. You must complete each of the tasks for each dish, and depending on how well you do it, you receive more points. I have read that the game is kind of sensitive. I will admit during some of tasks, there is some sensitivity. But your hand starts to remember exactly where to place the stylus. As they say, “practice makes perfect.” But there are much harder tasks to complete, I have the hardest with peeling potatoes and putting a certain amount of food into wraps. (kind of confusing, sorry) But even if you can’t do very well on just one task you can still complete the dish, but won’t receive the same amount of points, and may be able to open a “new dish.”All in all it’s a fun game to play. I would definetly suggest it!

Title: Did nobody find those fiery eyes disturbing?
Review: There are three good things about this game:1) Some of the graphics in the game are neat2) Actually gives you ideas for real meals if you’re not much of a cook!3) and the ability to unlock new recipes is a plusHowever I find there are too many more “cons” than pros:1) the fire in her eyes when you fail scares my 4-yr old niece, (the other kids aren’t scared but they’re not happy with it either) of course she still comes back to play sometimes…but really why did they find it necessary to put that in…?2) Sometimes no matter how well you think you’ve followed the instructions/stylus movements, especially when it comes to mixing/stirring etc you still get a less than perfect score- what’s up with that?3) One particular recipe tells you NOT to put too much filling yet the only time you score well (i.e. do not fail) is when you do just that!4) The combos are the most unimaginative ever, so I never bother to use the option to combine anything anymore.5) A feature of several dishes, the straining of any boiled item is programmed for failure or meagre results because of the position of the pot over the strainer, bad game design I guess.6) I know 30 minute meals are all rage since Rachael Ray (whom I love to watch btw) but that does not mean that every cook must work with a time constraint, and certainly not newbie cooks. I find a lot of the cooking times in this game are set to be too fast so that persons now learning, or smaller kids, have to spend more time in practise mode than really necessary if the game had simply been better designed to accomodate newbies.7) Why are there no desserts? The game is not a favorite in my home, although the kids will try it from time to time. It’s a brilliant concept but not very well executed in this particular game.

Title: Great for Fans of Cooking Games
Review: If you love cooking games, then you have to try Cooking Mama. It’s great fun! Loads of fun and interesting recipes await you. There’s even a game mode where you can combine recipes to create new and more interesting dishes! :)I love playing these games. Although this is the first and original game in the series, it isn’t my favorite. This is just my personal opinion. There are flaws with the game. The controls are slow to respond from time to time, which can make it difficult to complete set tasks. You also can’t customize Mama or anything else in game. You try it despite this. The content makes up for it. Don’t forget to try other entries in the series if you enjoy this one. I’ve bought other Cooking Mama games here on Amazon too. They’re fun and affordable too. 🙂

Title: A Game for Iron Chef Wannabes
Review: Cooking Mama is a great game for cooks of all skill levels from instant noodle munchers to iron chef wannabes. You needn’t be a master in the kitchen to do well in this game, but it does require some stylus skill to be a cook in mama’s kitchen.Players are required to complete a variety of basic cooking techniques which you will have the opportunity to practice till you are ready to get started. From chopping and slicing, to wrapping and breading, mama has you you do it all.Dishes range from salsbury steak to sushi rolls. Degree of difficulty is primarily dependent on the type of task or number of steps required to complete a dish. Some require one or two steps to a combination of several techniques. The more you play, the more dishes you unlock. Depending on how well you do, mama gives you a bronze, silver, or gold medal. However, don’t get mama mad or you shall feel her wrath!Cooking Mama is a really fun game that’s extremely addicting. It’s hard to stop playing. They make you really want that gold medal! The fact that you are able to see the very basics of how to make a cool looking meal is a plus. I think it’s a nice intro to those afraid of culinary arts. The only thing that prevented me from giving this game a 5 is the fact that we finished it so quickly. I wish there were a lot more dishes and greater degrees of difficulty. There were alot of dishes of course, but if you get as addicted to this game as we were, those dishes aren’t enough!

Review: Better than expected! Like brand new! Very pleased. Does state on box for sale and use in America, Canada and Mexico only but plays perfectly well on our DS. So have no problem with it. That’s probably why it was sold at a fraction of the brand new and UK versions.
