Title: First Rate Spaghetti Westerns
Review: I bought this one for A Genius Two Partners And A Dupe, and sure wasn’t disappointed! This was well worth the money and all the films looked in good watchable shape for spaghetti westerns. Jus a few minor imperfections but no interfering cropping off of heads or scenes cut at all. Simply a good exciting spaghetti western experience.

Review: I know that most of these old westerns are remakes from filmstrips and the lighting in them suck. However I enjoy them anyway.One movie in the dvd set has the wrong soundtrack matched to the film. Would you know that it happened to be one of themovies where the lighting is so much better too.

Review: This genre brought the western back to basics, i.e. the bad guys commit evil acts and eventually reach their demise at the hands of the marginally nicer hero(es). The two Italians “Terrance Hill and Bud Spencer” made lots of comedy westerns and cops films together and Terrance Hill got to star alongside Gene Hackman in a Foreign Legion film (March or Die?). They played seemingly amoral characters who were ultimately on the side of good.The critics of the time were at a loss to explain why the so-called spaghetti westerns were so popular, whilest the Hollywood product was in decline, and came up with all sorts of convoluted intellectual theories. I have always believed that the answer was very simple. We went to see a western because of the depiction of the violent overthrow of evil – something most of us are incapable of doing in real life, i.e vicarious enjoyment, a catharsis even. We did not wish to sit through yet another exposition of the villain’s disturbed childhood coupled with an infantile treatise on moral and social responsibility, with all the exitement removed. (“Shane” is a truly great film, but how good would it be without the brawl and the final reckoning?)

Review: warning to anybody thinking of buying these box sets. yes cheap but terrible transfers to dvd even worst than old vhslooks like they have been copied from vhs,digitally remastered:no way.bought three box sets from the collection,bad choice.should not be able to sell dvds in like this.

Review: I bought this for a Genius, Two Partners, and a Dupe… which is a good film, but, a bad copy… Pity, because I wanted to see this film for years… But, a good film is a good film… and this film has a much larger budget, than most Spaghettis, and has a good cast and production values… after all, it was produced by Sergio Leone’s company…Most Spaghettis are rubbish, as are the rest of the films in this package, but, if you want to a see a rare gem, buy it… or wait for the Blue-ray of this film
