Title: This is a R36S Clone (Not a real R36S)…it’s still good though…
Review: If it’s good, then why the 3-star review? Easy answer. Consumers don’t like being tricked. This isn’t an R36S Pro. A real R36S Pro is the budget King of Emulation and it’s priced between $30-$40.00.This device (as of this review) is $63.00 and it’s not even a real R36S. It’s a clone device with the same internals of the Kinhank K36S. Similar internals. Same CPU. Less RAM. Slightly lower performance. Different Screen. What made me realize this was the fact that when I got this out of the box, I didn’t even turn it on. I first pulled the SD card and flashed the AuEX ArkOS to it (since this is advertised as an R36S), only to find out that it won’t boot. Black screen. Flashing red light.I tried every version of ArkOS for the REAL R36S. None of them worked. Then I started to dig around in the bowls of the internet and a couple hours later, after trying clone firmware after clone firmware, I finally found that this is basically a Kinhank K36 (which is a clone device of the R36S, but at least Kinhank is open and honest about that fact by not calling theirs an “R36S”).I downloaded the ArkOS verison for that device (I had to use the V5 screen dtb file) and FINALLY, I got the device booted with the far superior ArkOS. This device comes out of the box with some version of Emuelec, which is less than ideal. In the end, what we have here is a solid device with good build quality. The screen is bright and virbrant. The performance is decent for Atari up to PS1. You can do very few select DC, PSP, and N64. Don’t count on those systems though. It’s hit and miss, with more misses than hits. This device should be priced around $30-$40.00 and they should change the name so people know they’re not getting a real R36S.I hope this review gets posted because its honest and as I write this, I’m staring at a box of over 50 retro handheld emulators. So basically, I’m pretty much an expert on the subject.Should the seller attempt to get my review pulled because of my “claim” that this is a fake R36S, I’ll say the following to the people who’s job it is to revew such claims before pulling the review.I know what I’m doing. What I have said here is real and fair! This is not a genuine R36S. It is actually a K36S, which is a clone device (or off shoot) of the R36S. This device is being deceptivly marketed as a real R36S. Prospective consumers on here must know the truth prior to spending their money.Do not pull this review!

Title: R36S clone, but that’s ok
Review: This R36s device is not the original, and is a clone. You can tell beause it has EmuElec on it instead of ArkOS. Also, it doesn’t have an SD card in the OS slot, but only has an SD card in the games slot. You might be happy with EmuElec, but I find ArkOS better, so get yourself another SD card and go to AeolusUX’s github page, and download ArkOS from there. There are instructions on how to flash it to your SD card. You’ll most likely need a new dtb file, which you can find on the pinned thread at the top of /r/R36S subreddit. This makes your device function just like an authentic R36S device. If you ever remove the OS sd card, the internal storage will automatically boot EmuElec again, so you’ll have to keep both SD cards in at all times, but that’s ok. Game on, friends!
