Review: Recover this bed quicker than originally stated. It is a slotted bed that fits together with no screws. I would recommend a rubber mallet. The pieces did not slide together easily but a rubber mallet made them fit together much easier. One piece of wood split but it cinched back closed. The wood is also not treated so you need to seal with an eco friendly sealer. We used a natural oil recommended by the store.

Title: Hard to put together, but nice overall.
Review: This was the most frustrating thing I’ve ever had to put together. If you’re not strong like me, be prepared. I had to use oil to make it easier for the boards to slide in. That said, the bed is actually very nice. Please make the assembly easier.

Review: Zero stars.  My partner, who has fine woodworking skills, put these together for me.  He could see where wood had split at the factory and they used screws to try to make it look good enough for shipment.  The wood is obviously the cheapest softwood they could get, but it was time to plant, so I went ahead and sealed them, filled them with expensive soil and plants.  Despite sealing, the wood was still splitting and breaking everywhere within days of being outside, and after just a few weeks, this happened (see photos of the collapsed planter)I invested in 8 of these boxes, plus sealer, soil, large perlite, organic fertilizer, plants, and considerable labor and water.  And now my smaller plants are done for, possibly my entire crop.  And I’m just outside Amazon’s return window, of course.  These planters are very low quality, but I still hoped thay they would last a few seasons with reasonable repairs.I’m so upset at the lack of support that I’m just about done with Amazon (and I spend thousands here per month).  Products fail, I get it, but Amazon used to have customer service, that’s gone now.  You’re taking a real risk when you spend money here.

Title: Difficult to assemble
Review: I’m knocking two stars off for two massive undisclosed issues. First; there is no way you could assemble this with bare hands – many of the pieces do not fit easily, and they required a couple hours and heavy use of a rubber mallet to get them to slide together. Second, it’s recommended that you used some type of eco friendly stain to treat the wood before using. (I’m foregoing that, at my own peril.) keep these in mind if you are older or just looking for something easy to put together – this item is far from it.That said, once I put it together, it seems very sturdy and looks great. Hopefully it will hold up.
