While some customers find it highly flexible, others describe it as frustratingly rigid, and while some appreciate its size, others note it might be too short. The sturdiness receives mixed feedback, with some finding it solid while others say it’s not as stable as heavy-duty gooseneck stands. Value for money opinions are divided between those who find it decent for its price and those who consider it cheap.

Title: Just buy it, critics be damned!
Review: ____________________________________________Disclaimer______________________________________________________First let me say that I purchased this item from amazon and was in no way compensated by this company for this review. I have had dealings with their customer support and it is for that reason that even with the short coming of this item, they have received a 5 star rating.___________________________________________________________________________________________________________Ok, so I have seen some of the criticisms of this stand/holder and they range from complaints about the plastic to the stiffness, and or bounciness of this item.First: yes, it has plastic, if you don’t want plastic, find another product that is going to cost you much more and provide none of the flexibility of this product.Second: Is the flexible part stiff and hard to shape… yes… but if it were not so then it would sag every time you used it.Third: is it bouncy… yes.. what do you expect? it is an ADJUSTABLE arm that can be put into most any shape withing reason. How it is that people would expect anything different is beyond comprehension.Fourth: Does it break… yes… anything will break if you apply to much force or in the case of this stand, at the base where the clamp is. This apparently is not common sense so people need to be told to not be overly aggressive with something at its weakest point.Rant over!I have had it for a couple of months now and here is my take on it, It is a nice item to have and once I played with it for a bit I found a shape (spiral) that best suited my use. It is a bit springy which makes touch screen a bit of a pain but it also allows us to use it in unconventional places where a normal stand type would not work. I originally purchased it for my iPad, unfortunately, the clamp is not deep enough to hold my iPad [ http://a.co/d/6SAqD3G ] in its protective case [ http://a.co/d/4vSKCrf ] because in the back of the case is a hand strap and kickstand. I then decided to see if it would work for my wife’s Surface pro, and it did, so it currently resides on the headboard of our bed on my wife’s side where she mounts the surface pro so she can watch videos with here headphones on instead of turning on the TV. The weight of the surface pro is not an issue and there is no sag. I shaped the arm into a spiral shape and pressed the rings closely together to minimize the springiness of it. While not perfect, it works extremely well, all my wife does is hold one corner of the tablet while using the touch screen with the other. I eventually got a follow up message from this company in regards to the item and whether or not I am happy with it. I explained the issue with my ipad case but that my wife uses it for her surface pro. They quickly got back to me and offered to take the item back for a full refund since it did not meet my needs. Now for those that complain about this product, I have only one question, did you contact customer support? I understand that there are going to be problem units, but I also know that people will complain just to complain. I wholly support putting information out about a bad product and have done so on occasion myself but I always add that the issue I had is based on one unit that I received and may not reflect the product as a whole. I have no complaints about this product or this company, I have purchased two products from them and have yet to see any of the issues others have complained about. Maybe i’m lucky but I think that it has more to do with managing expectations and not abusing the products. I highly recommend this product for two reasons, first, it is actually a very good product that is durable as long as you are not heavy handed when using it. Two, they have taken a page out of the amazon customer service handbook and made it better. Their customer service is amazingly responsive, professional and courteous. I would and will buy from this company again because I know that if the product is not up to my standards then they are willing to make things right within reason. A big thumbs up for a very cool product and the amazing customer service rep Kevin that deserves a raise for dealing with a difficult person like me. I hope this review helpedOh yeah, one last thing, the clip (that holds your table or phone depending on which one you get) uses a very strong spring which is needed to hold things in place. It is made of plastic which keeps the weight down and keeps the arm from sagging, this plastic will eventually break if you allow it to snap shut when you remove you phone or tablet. If you don’t want it to break then use a little common sense and don’t allow it to snap closed, that should be a no brainer but from looking at some of the reviews, apparently it needs to be said out loud.

Title: Great iPad Mount for Bedtime Use
Review: Got this for my son’s bunk bed to hold his iPad while he relaxes—he loves it and now asks to stay in bed way too long! The mount feels solid and is great value for the price. One star off because the arm is quite stiff, and my son has some trouble repositioning it on his own. But overall, a great addition to his setup.

Title: Going strong for 5 years
Review: Bought one about 5 years ago and still going strong. Bought another one recently for my husband and still the same good quality. Getting the right curves in the arm to balance heavier tablets can be tricky, but for phones and nintendo switch it’s perfect.

Title: Design Flaw – not prevent it from falling
Review: The arm is strong to hold iPad and flexible to twist around and fit to the best position. The iPad/iPhone holder has horrible design issues. It can only hold the device by squeezing it to stay, but it does NOT actually clamp it in place. It’s EASY to FALL and bump into your face. I’ve experienced several times and this is very annoying.I’d recommend buying a product with a better device holder design.

Title: Strong arm, adjustable size
Review: This has a very strong arm, so it can require a little more force to maneuver but to me, that’s fine since I want my devices secure while using and not at risk of falling over. This supports my kindle easily and also stretches just wide enough to hold a fire tablet. The “clip” is actually just two pieces that can be pushed closer or further with a screw mechanism. Although I originally intended to get a clip, I actually like this better after using since it can be adjusted to fit different surfaces.

Review: The gooseneck is very stiff and you need some strength to adjust it. However, it wouldn’t stand extended hours, if it wasn’t firm. The clamp part would be a bit slippery as I didn’t tighten up enough. I guess, it can depend on where you clamp it. In my case, I didn’t want to leave any marks or damage on my furniture. But, I am using it for my e-book reader only. So, it doesn’t need to hold heavier stuff, which works great for a longer while. The tablet holder also works well, although, at the beginning, I got scared to use it to hole my e-book reader as it has a strong spring. Over time, I could get used to it and what you need is just slowly and smoothly put your phone or tablet in and take it out.
