Title: Expensive, but worth it.
Review: I bought a DS1821+ with 8 of these drives (in a RAID 6 configuration) and I could not be happier. I do have 2x 400G M.2 drives as cache (Raid 1) that protects the NAS from power failure when the UPS happens to die when we have severe rolling blackouts, but, there have been no technical issues or hardware/software issues as of yet. I’ve only owned the hardware for about a month, so to say that this product will last for years will have to come over time, but for now, it’s working perfectly and none of the drives have failed or even hinted at a failure. They have a mean 1.5M hours of runtime and I think that’s accurate. If anything changes in the next year, I’ll update this review.

Title: About the same as Seagate Exos, but twice the price
Review: I populated a Synology DS3622xs+ with these, and they work great. The only reason they get three stars versus five is because they cost twice as much as Seagate Exos drives of the same capacity, with no discernible benefit. I only bought them because Synology ONLY supports their own drives in the new DS3622xs+. Which is unfortunate.I also have a Synology DS1621xs+ that is populated with Seagate Exos 16TB drives, and performs about the same as these drives, but at a substantially lower cost.

Title: Crap Drives! Can’t be trusted!
Review: We have lost a total of 4 drives since we bought the unit(Synology NAS) in 2021. This last round of failed drives we lost 2 drive in 48hrs of each other. Synology support said to update the firmware of the two failed drives. Total loss of data. We have had synology boxes running for years on Western Digital without any issues.
