Title: Works exactly as intended, full 3.0 Speeds and VR capable
Review: I bought this cable for using a VR headset, Valve Index, at range and it works perfectly!I got another cable, exchanged even, that couldn’t do any more then 2.0 speeds despite its advertising. It’s worth it just to grab this one for VR or even full on data transfers like with a portable SSD as I tested it with. Without full 3.0 speed the cameras on the Index don’t work for the pass through and safety net.

Title: Edit: DOES NOT WORK WITH VALVE INDEX
Review: My goal in purchasing this cable was to wrap it together with a 20 meter optical DisplayPort cable to make a super long extension for my Valve Index VR headset. The end result was unsatisfactory. I am able to use the headset with no lag, while on a different floor of the house from my PC, but the passthrough cameras do not work. If you’re thinking of buying this cable you probably already know most of what you need to know about it, so here are some things I would have liked to know ahead of time:1. There are ‘repeaters’, little AA battery sized bumps, every 5 meters or so. 3 in total on a 20M cable. Not an issue for me, but if you were trying to run this through a wall or a drilled hole you should make sure this is taken into account. Also, while the edges of them are round, there is a potential for them to snag. My cable is wrapped with another one inside a nylon mesh tube, so that takes care of this issue.2. The cable does come with a power adapter. Didn’t see that mentioned but I didn’t look very hard and was expecting to have to use an adapter I already had. There was one in the box. Cool.3. You do need the power adapter connected in order to get USB 3.0 speeds.4. You may have to play with it a bit. My initial setup procedure was to plug the male end of the USB cable into the computer, secure the slack, then unspool the cable to where it needed to go and plug the rest of the stuff in. This resulted in the cameras not working. After plugging and unplugging both ends and doing various software resets, I found success a single time by rebooting my computer with everything connected. After that it detected just like I was in front of the PC. After that the cameras never worked again. So be prepared to mess with it, it’s not a regular passive extension cable.Overall I definitely give it 4/5 stars. VR headsets are weird creatures, and with both bandwidth and latency sensitivity being very high I’m not that surprised it’s tough to find a working solution.

Title: I have tried 4 different cables on Amazon to run …
Review: I have tried 4 different cables on Amazon to run my Logitech c920 webcam and this is the ONLY cable out of the four that did the job. I have tried the various TNP USB Extension Cables and others and they seemed to work intermittently, or some of the functionality of the device was unreliable or didn’t recognize the camera, but this one does the job and it does it flawlessly. I am impressed. Thank you!10/23/2017 UPDATE: for some odd reason (and I didn’t notice this when I posted my original review on this product) I have to unplug and re-plug in the webcam when I do a restart of the computer. I must unplug the peripheral at the webcam side of the usb and this happens about 90% of the time in order for the PC to recognize the camera. It is a Logitech webcam. I am still impressed that this is the only cord that I could get to work.10/15/2020 UPDATE: Upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 10 about a year ago seemed to resolve the 10/23/2017 issue (above). Works flawlessly since upgrading.

Title: Top notch UBS 3 cable, bit pricy but worth it
Review: High quality cable: this is one of the best USB active repeater cables we have purchased so far. It’s expensive, but worth the cost. We ran the full length from the office room to the living and connected the performance PC with the HDLinks DVR – all USB 3.0 connections, to transfer high def files. The transfer rate is unbelievable.

Title: Works but be careful when handling!
Review: We needed a way to connect a USB 3.0 camera to a PC about 60 feet away in multiple rooms and this fit the bill. You need be to careful when handling the cable, as the female end can start to twist away from the housing. If this starts you could have sporadic connection problems and if it twists too far, you will break the cable.

Title: This cable works perfectly.
Review: This cable works perfectly. I use it to control my telescope USB3 camera (ASI 1600MM-Cool). I have a USB3 hub on my mount, so no external power adapter needed. I run my entire mount over this cable (Camera, guider, filter wheel, motor focuser, mount). Not one issue at all so far after 2 months of use.The active end of the cable seems a bit loose (although never any issue) so I would recommend being very careful not to twist this. I secured the active unit and a short USB3 cable in a small box to protect it. They could have secured this better IMO, but I’ll overlook it because the cable works so well.

Title:
Review: I bought this cable after seeing how successful Chuck Astrophotography on YouTube had been with two 20m SIIG cables. I connect to a remote Telescope with a Usb 3 router. It supports two ZWO cameras a SkyWatcher mount, a filter wheel and an electric focuser. The first time it worked perfectly fine, not one single issue but the second night out I had some difficulty first with the cameras then the focuser, then the auto-guiding. Astronomy is like this, so hoping it was just a trying night. I perservered and got everything I needed in retrospect. The alternative is to go wireless with an ZWO ASIAIR PLUS, but heyho, more cost! Thanks for the other candid reviews highlighting various problems, like the fragile powered usb connector! 20/3/22
