Title: The ultimate version of an underrated 90s kids classic with Chuck Norris.
Review: Sidekicks was a oft-forgotten 90s film about a young man (whose personal hero is Chuck Norris) with health problems learning to overcome his troubles thanks to hard work and martial arts training. The film was a minor hit with a good cast( Jonathan Brandis, Beau Bridges, Mako, Danica McKellar, Joe Piscopo, Julia Nickson-Soul and Richard Moll) that really started Chuck Norris’s move toward more family oriented programming like Walker Texas Ranger. The movie was more or less forgotten and only received a barebones DVD release in the 2000s. Finally after over 30 years, the folks at Vinegar Syndrome have released a 4k and Bluray combo of the film.The movie itself is seen as a Karate Kid knockoff or just a kids Chuck Norris movie but this movie has a lot of heart and was always a fun watch.There’s a lot of neat extras included such as interviews with Aaron Norris the director and Chuck Norris’s brother as well as another in depth interview with Julia Nickson who played Noreen Chan in the movie (some may remember her as the female lead in Rambo 2). There also other interviews with the producer, the film editor, and the production designer.The 4k UHDVD comes with a standard BR (which has all the extras on it), so you have two copies of this delightful underrated gem. There is also a reversible cover, a trailer, a promo reel,etc. There could have been more like an interview with Danica McKellar (lauren the love interest, more famous for playing Winnie in the Wonder Years) or Joe Piscopo ( of SNL fame who steals the movie as the over the top martial arts dojo owner baddie Kelly Stone).All told this is the ultimate version of Sidekicks so if ever wanted a beefed up version worthy of your Blu Ray player give this BR a worthy purchase and a Norris style roundhouse kick into your entertainment system.

Title: Chuck Norris Nostalgia!!
Review: While the movie is cheesy and yes you know it is, it is still a classic. This time in the 90s martial arts was huge, the three ninja’s and teenage mutant ninja turtles ruled all of our VHS’s at the time this little gem was a breath of fresh air and combined comedy with a edgy Chuck Norris twist to it. Take me back to the 90s and this movie will have you in your bleached jeans in no time!!

Title: “Bartender Make Mine Milk Too!!!”
Review: This is the funniest & martial arts film I’ve ever seen since T.M.N.T. (90′). It’s just as good. Great acting. The storyline is about a kid name Barry (Jonathan Brandis) (R.I.P.) fantasizing a fan and hero Chuck Norris. As he wants to be a martial artist as Mr. Lee (Mako) (R.I.P.) teaches him. As Barry slowly gets involve with a girl at school name Lauren (Danica McKellar). Barry’s father Jerry Gabrewski (Beau Bridges) make friends with Ms. Noreen (Julia Nickson). Barry gets bullied by Cellini but Barry stood up and show Cellini what Mr. Lee taught him. As Barry, Mr. Lee, Ms. Noreen and Jerry (Barry’s father) join forces to face a tournament as Ms. Noreen ask Barry’s greatest fan and hero to join their team. Great performances and roles by all the actors & actresses in the film. Highly recommend.

Review: Most people don’t know this but Michaelangelo died a very unhappy man. In the early 1500s when finishing the Sistine Chapel, the famous painter wasn’t able to complete his most iconic scene of God giving life to Adam. Recent revelations in Michaelangelo’s personal sketches have shown that he wanted God to be handing Adam a copy of Sidekicks. Unfortunately, this modern masterpiece wasn’t made for another 500 years.Sidekicks is simply put the best movie ever made by humans. It teaches us life lessons about hating the word “can’t,” empowering the physically disabled to learn martial arts, taking your inhaler every time a girl talks to you, and a lot about milk. This movie shines as a beacon to the marvelous career of Jonathan Brandis which was cut far too short. Beau Bridges performance was so great his career peaked too early catapulting his brother Jeff into an Oscar award winning actor. And… of course, Chuck Norris. Imagine cramming every roundhouse in 8 seasons of Walker Texas Ranger into 101 minutes (most roundhouses being delivered to Joe Piscopo’s face).Please watch Sidekicks. Name your next son Barry Gabrewski. Laugh and cry at how gloriously amazing this movie is. Never say can’t. Always order milk.

Title: One of My Favorite Movies of the 90’s
Review: I absolutely love Jonathan Brandis. I am so sad that he died at such a young age. I watch this movie when I want to remember how adorable and beautiful he was. I love Chuck Norris and karate as well, so this movie is a classic. Thank you for bringing this movie to Amazon so we can enjoy it again. It is a very nostalgic movie for me. Reminds you of The Karate Kid.

Review: I had sidekicks on DVD for years but the picture quality was awful,bought this new 4K disc set and I was well impressed with the remastered picture quality,always been a fan of this movie and loved the bonus features on this new 4K uhd set,a must have for fans of martial arts and fans of Chuck Norris.

Review: Received regular edition in standard 4k amaray case. I have seen people complaining about the same thing with D.A.R.Y.L 4K, also from Vinegar Syndrome, but at least now that particular image shows the right version you’re getting

Review: Über den Inhalt, so denke ich, muss ich nicht viel schreiben. Die Beschreibung des Filmes liegt vor. Dennoch ein paar Worte hierzu. Ein introvertierter, asthmakranker Teenager, heimlich in eine seiner Mitschülerinnen verliebt wird in der Schule gemobbt und flüchtet sich in eine Traumwelt in der er zusammen mit Chuck Norris gegen Bösewichte kämpft. Als Actionheld, Westernheld oder als Kampfsportler im fernen Asien. Seine Lehrerin stellt ihm ihrem Onkel vor der ihm die Kampfkünste lehrt und so findet er immer fester Fuß in der realen Welt. Ein finales Karateturnier und er ist der Sieger. Sein Peiniger und das Asthma sind besiegt und das Mädchen in seinem Arm.Eine schöne Teenagergeschichte mit Happy End. Selbst ich mit meinen 30 Lenzen schaue sie noch immer gern weil es ein Film meiner Jugend war.Zur DVD: In den Sprachen Englisch und Deutsch in Stereo 2 ausreichend. Dazu waren in den Extras unter anderem ein Karatetraining mit Chuck Norris und Trailer zu “Sidekicks” und “Top Dog”. Ich schaute mir vor dem Film die Trailer an und bekam nen Schreck weil die Synchronisation zu Sidekicks völlig anders war. Beim Einspielen des Filmes stellte ich zu meiner Erleichterung fest dass der Film in der altbekannten Synchro aufgespielt ist. Da die beiden Hauptdarsteller bereits tot sind ( J.Brandis 2003, Mako 2006 ) hätte ich mir ein Portrait der Darsteller, insbesondere der beiden Verstorbenen, gewünscht. Immerhin ist der Film auch sonst sehr gut besetzt ( Chuck Norris, Beau Bridges, Julia Nickson u.a.). Aber man kann ja nicht alles haben. Das Cover ist ein Wendecover, wahlweise mit FsK oder ohne.Viel mehr gibt es nicht zu sagen. Ich habe mir den Film endlich auf DVD gekauft und bereue es nicht im geringsten.
