Title: Don’t Waste Your Money
Review: Loses connection constantly. I bought it to use in my Traeger smoker and the display part was only about two feet away. I used this multiple times and it constantly lost connection and gave me errors. I tried it inside on the griddle as well and it would not stay connected. I used it over the course of two months about ten times and had constant problems. I finally went and bought a meat thermometer with a cord. Steer clear of this device. It is garbage.

Title: No App For Me! – UPDATED
Review: Going to have to deduct another star. Worked fine first summer. Second summer, and probe #1 is never detected. I really wanted to like this, but it didn’t last long.Call me old-fashioned but I’m getting tired of most modern devices requiring the use of a cell phone to utilize. I ordered this for two reasons. First, it had two probes because I occasionally cook more than one steak at a time. And second and more important, I don’t need to connect my cell phone to use this.This is a nifty set and I’m glad I got it. The temperature readings seem to be pretty accurate compared with my other thermometers. I now have 4 probes and although none of them read the same temp at the same time, they are all within 5F.I hate to have to deduct a star, but I do see a few areas for improvement. First, it’s a bit bulky but I can live with that. Second, the probes are a bit difficult to get out of the housing. I have another wireless probe that holds the probe by sliding in and out. I think this is more ergonomic compared to the snap in. And finally, the numbers written on the probes to dictate which slot to replace them in, are etched onto the metal part of the probes, and are a bit difficult to read.That said though, this is now my favorite set. Two probes instead of one, and the charge seems to hold longer than that single probe unit. Also wireless, so I don’t have to route any wires and stay near the display. And most importantly, it doesn’t require the need of a cell phone. But you can use one if you’d like. I recommend.

Review: Right off the bat, I will say that the app is pretty redundant and doesn’t do anything you can’t already do on the device itself, apart from temporal tracking by the minute. So if you don’t mind the rather basic UI, I’d probably just use it as a stand-alone. Really like the design where the two probes charge right inside the base so everything is kept organized and in one place. The probes are fairly long too for thicker meats. The magnets that keep the back of the base on are decently strong and the small flip-up stand is actually a very convenient feature. Each probe has its own battery life indicator on the screen when charging, as well as a separate one for the base. No problems there.The one thing however that’s really annoying is that the screen makes a pretty noticeable buzzing sound when on. You can hear the BT pings alongside it too that sound off every second or so, but they pale in comparison to the volume of the buzzing. Of course, when the probes are already in the meat and you’ve selected your target temperature, the screen will turn off after a few seconds to save battery and the buzzing disappears, so it’s definitely something about the electronics behind the old-school screen that are causing all the racket. Resolution is super basic – almost like something from the 1980s – but at least it’s large and simple to read.As far as accuracy, I think it’s GOOD and reliable, albeit consistently low by about 1.4-1.6°F. I actually stuck the probes under my armpits out of the box just to see what kind of readings I’d get and both always showed 97°F. My control thermometer showed 98.6. Unfortunately, there is no way to change the readings from F to C. The great part is that the pings are always regular so response time is very good, which you can obviously track using the app. Personally, I just insert the probes, set the target temperatures and leave ’em be. No need for minute-to-minute tracking unless you’re running an experiment and I’d much rather have the screen off to do away with that annoying buzz.Overall, I have to say that it absolutely does the job. It’s a pretty basic device I’ll give it that, but battery life is surprisingly good and I haven’t had to recharge it yet after 3 uses. You do need to be careful not to touch the probes right after cooking though because they get HOT. Use gloves and cool them down before cleaning and putting them away. BT range is exceptional so you can easily be 2 floors away and monitor your meats. Can’t say that I’m a fan of the buzzing screen, but everything works like it’s supposed to and the accuracy – although slightly low (better to underestimate anyway) – is reliable. The base could’ve been a bit smaller, but it is what it is. Four stars from me.

Review: The unit will not charge, will never show a three bar charge. When used it will run for about 10 mins and then the probe will no longer register and drops out. Try with both probes and they bth drop out and should no charge. Tried charging 40 mins before use and after10mins it repeats the problem. Not very good for $104 unit. Send both units back as one was a Christmas gift for our son. Buyer beware.Works well with the Bluetooth , used two probes to cool, the Christmas Turkey and it turned out great. Both probes are mark so you can’t mix them up in the charging case. Would recommend charging everything a few hours before starting as you done want to run out of battery while cooking. Strong magnetic cover on back.

Review: These wireless thermometers are a must have for anyone who cooks to internal temp.I’ve used wired models for a few years that were difficult to clean and you’re always fumbling with the cables. We’ve used these probes a few times now and they work great, no cables to fuss with, easy to clean, the probes store easily inside of the case and the app is easy to use. Would definitely recommend these.
