Title: Works as designed
Review: I gave these walkie-talkies to my grandson and daughter. The others I had given experienced too much interference from the neighbor’s homes, etc. These talkies have a distance of up to 18 uninterrupted miles. We have tested these in the neighborhood, at least a half mile. No interruptions.It helps keep track of our great lil’ man!

Title: Great product, no so great range.
Review: 32 mile range. no way. Half mile…yes. I use it at work in a warehouse atmosphere the size of 2 football fields and it works great. I live 4 miles from work and cannot hear anything at all from home. Super clear reception. I recharge them after every 2 days of fulltime use which would be roughly 20 hours run time. They may go longer without charging. Very durable and can take 4 foot drops all day long. Kids use them in the fields with the voice activated feature which is nice. 5 stars for value, function and durability. 1 star for range.

Title: Cobra means business
Review: These two way radios have a very nice, long range of distance. We have about forty eight acres out in the country and we enjoy riding four wheelers and camping in the summer plus we have tons of trails to walk through our private property. I don’t like to send the kids out with just a cell phone, because you never know if the phone drops in water or if the phone drops in mud and they’re unable to make a call, I would rather to have them a radio. So far, I’ve been very impressed, nice. Crystal clear sound Long distance range and they can reach me from any corner of the property. I highly recommend these radios. Go ahead and get you some.

Title: Don’t believe the hype 38 miles!?! Not 38 feet
Review: We were very excited to have the Cobra Walkie Talkies in time for our Bike trip in Southport, NC. Charged up the radios night before and sat down with wife and reviewed the instructions so she knew how to use radio while we were riding (with optional headset and VOX). We were ready to go and decided to try the radio in our cottage which is not 40 feet long. We could hear each other while looking at each other so that’s thumbs up. As soon as she stepped into bedroom front of the house and I stepped in back bedroom-nada…so we tried not using the headsets and could hear better but not when using VOX! We wanted to use the VOX since riding bikes but not working when stepping in opposite rooms- in same house!! We tried different settings channels and no improvement. We decided to take anyway and off and on during day we tried calling each other in same building with no luck. Super frustrating as we thought we had the right tool for this trip. We will be returning this set including the optional hands free headset by Cobra as well. Wanted to like this but failed us. Battery life did seemed to be good as was on all day and only down one bar at 11:00 pm but hey, did not use any functions so no wonder…good radar detectors however

Title: Rugged, good range, and totally worth it!
Review: Range all depends on terrain, buildings, trees, etc. I did a test with my daughter and was a mile away and they worked excellent! Further than that, up to 3 miles, she could hear me, but i couldn’t hear her. We have mountains and buildings all around us, so i wasn’t surprised. I basically purchased so we could use in areas where there was no cell phone service…camping, events etc. Weather alert modes and the LED flashlight are an added bonus. So, these will fit the bill perfectly! Also, the units are very rugged and waterproof. Before ordering, make sure you read….the distance they transmit is based on so many factors….don’t expect to talk from 32 miles away…that’s absurd….that’s a best case scenario. If you want that distance, spend 5x more. The people saying they are hard to set up, are clueless. These were super easy to set up….*hint*, read the manual!!! Totally satisfied!

Title: Durable comfortable in hand not good for talking over half a mile
Review: I bought these so I could communicate with my 11-year-old who lives a little over a mile from me with his mom in a New York City address. The devices were listed to be able to communicate in a city area for 3 miles after 10 blocks. The communication failed not merely as much distance as advertised within a 5 to 6 block radius. They were fine however I’m buying these in case of an emergency and I want to be able to communicate at a further distance thus I had to return them. If you’re using these for a short distance, they’re fine but for a long distance more than a mile in the city, the amount that’s listed on them is in accurate. You’ll only get a couple of blocks of communication again I live in New York City, so maybe the buildings are taller than the average city that they’re talking about with the distance but I was very disappointed and I’m only giving it three stars. Again, I was very happy with the communication in a short distance. That’s why it’s getting three stars, but I can’t give it anymore because anytime it went past eight blocks was distorted and nonexistent.
