Title: Knob (handle) pop-up stopper and strainer plate ONLY
Review: This is what I needed. I did not need to spend over a hundred of dollars for all the parts for acable driven bath waste and overflows.I messed up trying to remove the knob/handle. I first try to place a small flat head into the hole on the side of the knob but it did not turn. I applied so much force that the tip of my small flat head broke. I watch many videos. I was hoping I could drilled a hole in the handle to get to the screw behind it to unscrew it from the mount. After I drilled two holes, I peeked inside, there was no mounting screw behind it.I went back to the hole on the side of the knob, with my cell phone camera, I was able to take a picture of the inside. The picture showed a screw that will fit a flat head or philip. I could not understand why I could not unscrew it before. Eventually I figured out that it was not righty tighty lefty loosey. For some reason, I had to turn the screw in the opposite direction and was able to get the knob off instantly. After, I snake the overflow pipe down to the clog in the drain.Now I have a big freaking problem. I got a ugly knob with two holes in it. I went crazy looking for videos and searching websites. I could only find one video that said this knob is part of the American Standard cable driven system. Now I went crazy checking their website, parts replacement area and reviewing so many installation manuals. None of them had a picture of the exact knob I have.Eventually, I took a long shot with the Westbrass knob because I could not find an American Standard replacement. The picture looks like what I have and the screw width seems to fit on the stem.Knock on wood and cross my fingers and once I received it. It was the same knob I have and size. I screwed it on and my nightmare is gone.Just a note. This is NOT a full cable driven bath waste and overflows system. Review: This is our second set, the finish doesn’t last very long. Our sink set is still ok but the bathtub set finish wore off. We are not using harsh chemicals on it either. Hopefully this set will last longer.
