Title: Solved my 2024 MBP M4 two display limitation
Review: Review of: EZQuest USB C Hub Docking Station 12 in 1Macbook Pro: Nov 2024, 14inch, M4, 16gExternal Displays: AOC 2252W, Dell U2713H, Dell VX3276-QHDResults: SUCCESSI have a 2013 MBP that drove four monitors with no docking station, just HDMI port or thunderbolt adapters (ie: ThunderBolt 1 to HDMI, TB1 to VGA, etc). I was looking at specs on the MBP M4 and noticed that Apple says MBP is limited to two total displays counting the laptop display (1 internal with 1 external or closed lid and 2 external). If you upgrade to a “higher end” MBP for a ton more money, you get four displays. I was disappointed and not willing to spend that extra money. After research, the problem seemed solvable via docking hubs and most of them were a little expensive. After some more research, found this one for 1/3 the cost and decided to give it a shot. I am very happy with the results!Added USB-C from 2024 M4 MBP to EZQuest Docking Hub (no other cables on docking hub at this time)MBP’s USB-C to VGA dongle, then VGA to VGA cable to AOC 2252WResults: Laptop display and VGA @ 1080 work perfectly.Note: VGA port on Dock Hub with VGA to VGA cable would not keep sync with VGA monitor (monitors blinked / blanked out) in the end, I wanted the VGA always on so direct connect to MBP through TB/USB-C to VGA adapter was my preferred configuration. I have other monitors on a switch box and share with windows laptop. When Dell monitors on showing windows, I want the AOC/VGA to show mac all the time. I did some research and it appears that it might be related to the hub and VGA monitor being or not being a real 60hz and when I used the USB-C to VGA dongle, it must sync properly, dunno. This was the same general set up I had with my 2013 MBP, but it was thunderbolt 1 to VGAAdded HDMI cable to Docking hub to Dell U2713HResults: Laptop Display, AOC 2252W and U2713H all THREE working separately / perfectlyAdded HDMI cable to Docking hub to Dell VX3276-QHDResults VX3276 (fourth monitor) not working (see below)Installed InstantView via instructions / link provided by hub. With InstantView in-active (aka: “Disconnect”) I had the Laptop, AOC and Dell 2713 workingWith InstantView active (aka: “Connect” ), I had ALL FOUR DISPLAYS WORKING discretely. (Desktop extended). I usually have laptop lid closed and put to side, so I really only run the three external displays, but nice to know I could do four LOL.Very low cost solution to solve a problem the limitation. So far I highly recommend this solution, I’ve been running it for a few days with no issues. I have two HDMi’s on the back of the docking hub driving two Dell monitors, a usb-c for power and communication with MBP, two old style USB’s for keyboard and time machine and a directly MBP USB-C to VGA to drive third monitor.Docking hub barely warm to touch on top, maybe a couple degree’s more on bottom, but still barely warm (ie: it’s not running “hot” or close to it as another poster indicated)Recommendation: BUY BUY BUY BUY BUY

Title: This is a GREAT hub!
Review: I’ve bought and returned more than a dozen USB-C hubs over the past few years because they didn’t work as advertised e.g. slow data transfer speeds, lower-than-advertised power delivery, poor audio quality (3.5mm audio) or some features simply didn’t work at all (e.g. mic input on 2-in-1 headphone/mic socket and/or HDMI video ports). This EZQuest 10-in-1 hub has finally ended my seemingly never-ending search for a USB-C hub with the features I need that will work with both my MacBook Pro 16” Intel machine, and my iPad Pro 12.9” M1.Note: the hub DOES get very hot when connected to a 100W charger but this is normal for such high-current power delivery. If it’s used without PD or when connected to a charger with considerably lower output (e.g. 45-60W), there’s no noticeable heat. The only feature this hub doesn’t have is a detachable USB-C cable but EZQuest has already told me this is currently in development….and I will be one of their first customers to buy an equivalent hub with a detachable cable.I was very pleasantly surprised to finally find a product that meets all of my needs and I’ll definitely buy EZQuest products in future based on my experience with this hub.

Title: Good product and fast delivery
Review: Overall, a fantastic product for the price. Pros: Product works great. I have audio, DVD/CD portable player, I-Phone, SSD and HDMI connected to device and all work great. CONs: wish it had a few more USB-A connections. I did not use the LAN connection so cannot say how that would work.

Title: Great marketing, poor engineering
Review: I was expecting a USB-C hub that worked, instead I got an unusable heating element. Attempted to use with a recent version of the Macbook Pro. Here are the issues:1) Runs very very hot. Not exactly burns skin hot, but pretty close. More so with the pass-thru power connected.2) Cannot charge phone at 7.5 watts. Would only supply 2.5 watts on the USB-A charging port.3) Plugging a USB 3.0 flash drive into the USB-A ports (didn’t matter which one) would randomly attach the drive as a USB 2.0 device (at 480Mbit/s!!!). Other times it would attach as a USB 3.0 device. This issue only appears when using the EZQuest hub. Directly connecting the drive to the Macbook Pro works correctly every time.4) While the EZQuest is advertised as 100 watt pass-thru power, it does in fact reserve 15 watts for itself. So a 100 watt power supply will have just 85 watts delivered to the laptop. Just FYI.5) Each time I unplug my phone from the EZQuest hub, the hub triggers a bug in MacOS. The bug continuously spews error messages into the console log, which in turn heats up one CPU core, which in turn makes the fans run. The only way to make the error messages stop is to unplug the EZQuest hub from the Macbook Pro, then plug it back in. Plugging the phone directly into the Macbook Pro has no such issues and charges at 12 watts.Other stuff: the ethernet seems to work as it should, with gigabit link connection, and near gigabit throughput. I did not test the SD card reader or the HDMI port.I returned the product and got a full refund from Amazon.
