Title: Always go for real brass fittings, the new type of aluminum painted to look like brass are terrible.
Review: Always use brass fittings. Don’t use those new aluminum ones with the thin fake brass coating. They will corrode stuck within one season. Use these real brass fittings that will never really corrode at all. I have these on my brass end connection of the hose and they come off and on easy. Works great and no hassle at all.

Title: Solid Brass, does the job
Review: Works as it should, no leaks. Comes with 4 washers, a nice extra. Knocked off a star because when it arrived the lever that opens and closes the valve was stuck, as if glued in place. I pushed and pulled for half an hour and was ready to give up and return it. Finally the lever moved. Now it works smoothly.

Review: I got tired of walking back-and-forth 100 feet (~30m) to the house faucet to change hose connections at the far end, without getting sprayed and wet. These valves permit turning off the water, at the far end, to comfortably add or remove other hoses or sprinklers. Also, in certain circumstances, it’s nice to leave the hose pressurized in the hot sun to help unkink any kinks. These hose valves are brass, with a small handle (doesn’t get in the way, doesn’t get hooked on things). Water flow can be adjusted from OFF, through various dribbles and sort-of mist, up to a tight stream when fully ON (tighter focus than an open hose). Comes with four extra washers. Price was fair, but not cheap.

Review: It takes some effort to turn the valve, but you get used to it. I expect to turn clockwise to let the water flow, but it’s instead counterclockwise. I have not gotten used to this.
