Title: Are you a baker? Super FAST way to grate frozen butter!
Review: OK, so I read a BUNCH of reviews prior to purchase, and I hope to address a few issues that others have mentioned.As noted in my headline, I bought this to grate frozen butter for baking. (It’s a thing.) Literally took me about 30 seconds to get the job done. And I’m sure that it will work just as well for cheese and veggies. Plastic is thick and feels sturdy. The two biggest issues that people seem to mention are the handle coming off and the suction releasing.RE: Handle – a number of reviews mention that the handle comes apart/doesn’t stay in place/breaks. I realize that I’ve only used it once, but there is a handle lock that snaps in firmly. If you don’t hear the “click” that connects the handle to the drum, you’re not doing it right.RE: Suction – Another complaint is that many rotary cutters won’t stay stuck. This one did! A couple of things to remember: the counter you’re using MUST be smooth and DRY. If you have a slightly textured laminate countertop or textured tile, it may not work for you. (If you have a glass top oven, they work great!) The dial for the suction is very clearly marked to show which way to turn it to lock and unlock it from the counter. I suppose that with use, suction may be compromised, as the center of the bottom is plastic, and the edge is rubber. The rubber must be sealed completely to the plastic center to pull up and create the suction. If I lose suction, that will be the first thing I check. (And then reattach the plastic to the rubber with some good adhesive.)RE: Drums – Some drums on others are cone shaped. This one is cylindrical. I’ve seen others that have cutting plates that snap onto the central wheel. Here, each type of cutting (fine, coarse and slices) has its own wheel, made of metal, and trimmed in plastic, with no plastic seam along the length of the drum.RE: Chute – this chute is angled and locks into place. I read many reviews where people complained that the chute was parallel to the counter. Not an issue here, as it is angled, and food came out easily. When I got to the end, I did need to dig out the shreds with a small rubber spatula, as butter is sticky, and I’m sure that even in the short time the it took to grate, the end of the stick was much softer than it was when I started. (Next time I try, I’m going to freeze the drum and the catch bowl and see if that helps. I’d probably do the same if I was trying to shred a soft cheese like muenster or mozzarella – and I’d freeze the cheese the day I was going to shred it.)RE: Feeder Tube – Although I only used this to shred butter (so far) It looks to me that the feeder tube is wide enough to fit a zucchini in. I do wish that it was a bit taller as the butter stuck out the top, and the pusher is angled as well (due to the angle of the chute), which made it a tiny bit difficult to start. I could’ve cut the stick into 2 pieces but was being lazy. (If I had cut it in half, the feeder was not large enough to put both pieces in next to each other, so I would have had to shred in two batches.)RE: Handedness (yes, you read that right, and it is a word!) – I read a complaint that this couldn’t be used by a left-handed person. I’m right-handed, and for a “righty” to use this, look at which direction to turn the lock knob BEFORE you set it down, as the dial will be facing away from you. In this regard, it would probably be easier to be left-handed. Once you’ve got it locked down, a right-handed person will turn the crank away from themself (starting with the handle at the top) and a lefty will turn the crank toward themself.RE: Cleaning – Although others are marked as dishwasher safe, this one specifically says that hand-wash is preferred. Because the locking parts are made of plastic, and I don’t want it to become brittle from the heat of a dishwasher, I’m just going to suck it up and hand wash. It’s only 3 parts, and I don’t want to break it because I’m being lazy.Lastly… For everyone that complains (not just here, but I always see this in Amazon reviews) about receiving a used item… return it. It’s not the manufacturer’s fault that someone else used and returned something that got shipped to you… that’s on Amazon. Don’t penalize the manufacturer with a bad review!

Review: Oh my God, I love this thing! Best $20 I ever spent. I have a bad shoulder and would you know the thing that was most painful to do was grate cheese? I wish I’d bought one years ago, I can grate a block of cheese in no time at all and all without any pain.Of course, the downside to this is that because I have all this lovely, easy grated cheese I eat so much more and spend so much more money on cheese than I used to.Kidding aside, if you are on the fence about buying one of these, do it – you won’t regret it!

Title: Great Little Find
Review: Great little find. My daughter used one of these when we were visiting her, and it looked so easy I had to get one. I have used mine for just about everything. I do suggest that when you are ready to use it, you should be sure you are putting on a clean space, the smallest crumb can interfere with the seal. Even if everything is clean and tidy, I usually spray and clean the counter and the bottom seal of the grater before using and I don’t have any issues with it not staying in place. I have grated just about everything with the 2 different sizes for grating, and the slicing blade has been amazing for potatoes, carrots, radishes etc. It cleans up easily and its compact design is great for storing in smaller spaces.

Title: Grate Escape – The Cheese Shredder That Changed Everything!
Review: I hate buying bagged cheese, but I also hate grating cheese even more and the food processor was leaving me chunks of cheese and it was so hard to clean. This thing is a life changer. The coarse shredding blade works great on any cheese. The fine shredding blade worked great for grated parmesan. The cheese did not get stuck inside or clump up at all. The size is perfect for storage. The suction on the bottom works amazing, it didn’t budge when using it. The slicing blade worked perfect for potatoes au gratin. And the blades are sturdy enough go in the dishwasher.

Title: Effortless, sturdy and great quality
Review: I love this! I can’t say enough good things about it. It slices through carrots and celery with almost no effort. The unit is of really nice quality and the turquoise color is so pretty. Very easy to assemble and switch out blades. Once I stuck it to the counter it didn’t move. The size is perfect for a nice chuck of cheese or several carrots all at once. Easy to rinse off and clean. I would recommend this 100% and would absolutely buy it again. This would be a great housewarming gift too.
