Customers say
Customers find the griddle easy to clean, with removable plates that are a dream to pop off and wash, and appreciate its cooking ability, particularly for bacon and non-meat items. The appliance works well and is super easy to use, with good temperature control though some report it doesn’t heat high enough. Customers disagree on the size, with some noting the cord is only 22 inches long, and while some find it worth the price, others consider it not worth it. The durability receives mixed reviews, with several customers reporting that the plastic drip pan cracked within the first two months of use.

Title: Still a work in progress.
Review: I have never owned an indoor grill. So I have nothing to compare this with other than my traditional stove and the fact I have cooked on all kinds of grills. From the old fashioned outdoor kind that requires charcoal, to gas, to our expensive Holland grill where the flame never touches the meat. But there isn’t a cut of steak that I couldn’t cook to perfection on it. I know because when my husband finally didn’t feel up to cooking on it one night. I told him I would do it. I guess him being the Man he thought that was a man’s domain. After our first steaks which I cooked based on time. He spent the next few weeks buying every cut of steak there was, all of which I cooked perfectly. He asked why I never said I could cook so well on a grill? I said you never asked me. Lol I was blessed with the gift of cooking and loved it. And baking and was writing my own cookbook which has mysteriously disappeared from my home twice now. But since the weather gets bad where we live and I love a grilled sandwich and I’m sorry, I can cook a steak in a skillet or in the oven, but it is just not the same as on a grill. The one I almost purchased actually measured the thickness of the meat for steaks, hamburgers, etc.. This one does not. I guess I would say it is good quality, but it sure feels loose when it seems it should feel tighter to me. So far I have only cooked a couple burgers on it. As for it being non-smoking? Well it could have been steam? But I did notice a fair little amount of smoke for a little bit, but it did eventually stop. The reason for my 4 star rating is, the book itself only tells you how to cook bacon. That’s it, aside from general use information, how to remove the grill plates for cleaning, the drip pan and the back legs to raise it so the grease will drain down into the drip pan. All of which are things you need to know. But no recomendations for grilling steaks, burgers or anything else. Since I can cook, obviously, my common sense kicked in as to what temperature I thought it should be at. But still googled it to make sure and was right. The bottom grill itself, the seperation between the risers is a little wider than I would prefer. And I found it odd that the on this unit the bottom has the grill plate or you can change it to the smooth for pancakes, eggs, etc… The top is always smooth, which is fine. But I thought these indoor grills basically cooked from both bottom and top so if you did not want to flip your steak or burger, you didn’t have to. However, it did reccommend flipping it after 3 to 4 minutes. When I did I expected to see those nice grill lines as if it were on a real grill. But there were none. The top however, had a nice crispy appearance and that charred look we know and love. So if I am right, then the top grill plate gets hotter than the bottom? Because the bottom had no char, and I want some on both sides of my meat. And I really was disappointed it did not put the nice grill marks on my burgers. Not sure if it’s because they are spaced so far apart? Or, what. But that is a disappointment and perhaps could just be sometimes you really do get what you pay for. And in this case not sure if a more expensive one would have been better. But I am always trying to save money when I shop and paying for a brand name means nothing to me. I have bought to many items much cheaper to avoid that name brand price and had items last me twice as long and frankly were just better or as good all the way around. I have not yet cooked steaks on this or my grilled sandwiches I have a lot of running through my mind. But I do not have high hopes already of seeing those nice charred lines that just make what was actually cooked on a grill, look like it was cooked on a grill. So a little on the fence here. Does it work? Yes. It was easy to use and it cleaned up easy as well. It doesn’t exactly feel cheaply made. But again as you are moving it or raising the lid, it has a sway to it where to me it should be nice firm, solid and I don’t see the need for it to feel so loose. But again, I am not an indoor grill expert. For the money, I am sure it will be fine. It was comparable to other similar items. The only other thing that to me is misleading, is on the box it shows 6 burgers on it. Well I cooked 2 and I like mine to be bun size when they are done. I could not have put 6 on this grill. I could easily have put 4 and that is fine. They do shrink, so I make mine a little bigger because I know once cooked it should be the size I am after. I would overall recommend it. Especially since I know it does work, but why not throw in a few recomendations into the booklet for those like me have never used one before? At least an idea of cooking times & temperature for certain items. Specifically things people will generally cook on a grill. Just a thought. Would have helped me. If it does not cook a couple sandwiches I have in mind? Then I will probably return it. Just saying. I have a convection oven and can accomplish pretty close to the same thing. As I want my meats and cheese inside to be melted before my bread burns. So that will be my deciding factor on keeping this or not. And I will update my review should I be surprised and it work the way I was hoping it would the first time. It did cook 2 burgers from a 1/2 lb pack of lean ground meat right at 8 minutes total and I could have probably removed them in less time than that. More like 6 to 7 minutes so it was fast at 375 degrees. I hope it works well for you should you buy one. Not trying to discourage it, just providing my own experience and what my hopes were when I bought it.

Title: Excellent Little Cooker
Review: I bought this as a Used/Very Good item for half the price. Well, it wasn’t used, ever. It looked as if the original box was damaged and they just pulled the contents and put it into a new box. Everything was perfect. The first thing I made were pancakes (Sam’s Club brand). After letting it warm up to the max temperature, I sprayed the surface with butter cooking spray and slapped eight 4″ pancakes on the griddles. They cooked perfectly. Cleanup was easy. I wiped the plates down with a paper towel and gave them a quick wash in the sink. I think I have to add that I unplugged the unit and let it cool down first. You have to spell these things out sometimes. The second thing I cooked were frozen hamburgers. Sam’s Club 80/20 Angus. I put them in and closed the lid. They cooked a lot faster than on the stove, given that they were being cooked on both sides at once. I had to keep a close eye as not to overcook them and turn them into hockey pucks. They were done in less than 5 minutes at 400°F.The third, grilled cheese. Now here’s the thing, I learned that I have to cook grilled cheese like you do on the stove–one side at a time. Why? That lid is HEAVY. It squished the sandwiches down to about half the thickness of a piece of sliced white bread. I’m not kidding. I should’ve taken a picture, it was funny. With the squishing, a lot of the cheese squeezed out onto the griddle. Before I started, I sprayed the plates with butter cooking spray. I will say, the bread was toasted perfectly. The spray gave it that “fried in butter” look, feel, and taste. Buuuut, it was flat and crispy. It still worked with tomato soup. But, lesson learned.I haven’t cooked anything else on it yet, but I’m sure whatever I make will be fine. It takes about 10 minutes to heat up. But that’s ok. I use that time to prep whatever I’m going to cook on it or anything else I’m making in the toaster oven or microwave. I love this thing.

Review: It seems to work well, but came without bottom griddle plate. The box did seem like it was re-sealed, so was probably a return. I am requesting a discount…
