Review: This is going to be the perfect travel light stand. I am a professional photographer, and I travel recreationally pretty often. I always have my Sony A7 with me, and I like to take one or two strobes with me and a couple small modifiers in the event a photoshoot opportunity arises (almost always does). Steel folding light stands are a pain to travel with, take up a bunch of room, and don’t travel well. I recently bought a Godox “travel” stand which is really nice. It’s compact, sturdy, and extends via center pole and leg extensions just like this one. It’s steel construction so it’s a bit heavier, and it seems to have more pinch points and a little clunky feel compared to the Ulanzi. The Ulanzi is aluminum, so significantly lighter. The telescoping pole assemblies are “keyed” so they don’t rotate within each other. This feels quite a bit smoother and they stay aligned better. The Godox overall extended height is slightly taller than the Ulanzi, but that’s about the only advantage it gets. I could almost buy 3 of the Ulanzi stands for the cost of a single Godox so if this thing holds up it’s a monster of a value.

Review: I bought this for a super portable/travel light stand and it looked like it would work great. Then the project changed and I no longer needed it. But I decided I could use a laptop stand and added a 1/4 to 5/8 adapter on top for my OnStage MSA5000 Mic Stand Laptop Mount.Then added a basic mic stand headphone hook and tray. Works really well, tho a little over the weight limit.

Title: Great Light Stand for Smaller Strobes
Review: The Ulanzi TT43 is a solid little stand! It’s super lightweight, which makes it easy to move around and set up. I’ve been using it to place strobes behind my subjects for portraits, and it’s perfect for that.Just a heads-up — it’s best for lighter strobes. If you’re rocking something heavier like an AD400 or FJ400 with a modifier, this stand might not be the best fit. But for smaller lights, it’s spot on. Definitely a great pick if you want something portable and easy to use!

Title: If you buy, I hope your experience is better than mine
Review: I changed my desk, and the light stand I used that clamped to the desktop was no longer viable. I needed a floor stand. This one had great reviews and a good price, so I pulled the trigger.The first time I tried to use it, I screwed in my Elgato Key Light. As it’s getting tighter on the screw, I start to get it close to where I want it, and the male end of the screw that’s on this stand sheered off. THE FIRST TIME. This is not the sign of a product made with quality material.Since I needed the light right then, I had to scramble to find a workaround solution, and I’m not really happy with what I came up with, but I wish I’d just kept my money. I’d still be displeased, but I wouldn’t be poorer for it.And it sucks, too, because this had a smaller footprint that would have been perfect for my needs.
