Review: I LOVE this book. It’s goes beyond what I expected. Such professional writing and gorgeous photos. I learned a great deal about cats around the World. I’m sure some places were not so good, however, you educated people as you traveled about kitties! Beautifully done! Thank you!!!!!

Title: The Best Cat Coffee Table Book in Decades – Cat People Rejoice!
Review: One of our greatest joys during travel is spotting a local cat – whether it’s just a quick sighting as she dashes into a bush, or he’s fearless enough to make our acquaintance – because we are cat lovers who have had to leave our kiddos behind while we explore new places and cultures. What a thrill to find an entire book filled with such encounters, beautifully photographed, with stories behind each cat and the people who care for them.As a person who is also dedicated to improving the welfare of cats (I’m a cat doctor), many of the sanctuaries and cat refuges featured in this outstanding book are on my travel bucket list, as well, so I’m going to be using it as a travel guide (there’s an idea… how about the condensed, pocket-size travel version – the cat sanctuaries of the world travel guide?)I just took delivery on the book an hour ago, so I haven’t read it all the way through yet, but I’ve read enough to know I can’t wait to read every word and savor every photo: the evidence of loving care and compassion shown to cats all over the world brings joy to my heart and soul.My only complaint is that this wonderful book isn’t available in a larger format like the coffee table books of yore, but it’s certainly big enough to find a prominent home on our family room coffee table.A million thanks to Hannah and Andrew for embarking on such a delightful journey and sharing their adventures with us. And please enjoy my sweet little boy, Starscream, who has decided to read the book before I can finish it.

Title: Insightful and Inspiring
Review: This is a beautiful book in every sense. The photos transcend the pretty coffee table book aesthetic and capture the subjects’ personalities. The words enthusiastically highlight the lives of the cats and those who care about them while the challenges and negative aspects are addressed realistically without demonizing. Hanna and Andrew clearly put their hearts into this book to show how various cultures influence their treatment of cats. Focusing on the unique human feline relationships, the challenges and solutions individuals and organizations brings a new perspective that any age reader will find insightful and inspiring.

Review: Having followed both of the authors on their social media pages and loving the work they do for cats and animals in general, I was excited when they announced this book. I was initially worried it would be a very overpriced, boring book to read that just looks nice on the shelf. But if you love cats like I do, you will find this book very interesting. It’s got sections about some of the countries they have visited with lots of funny and/or heartwarming photographs (I assume these were taken by Andrew Martilla?). And they are paired up with short stories about these cats and their “people”, whether that be the owner or just someone who very kindly takes care of the cat/cats. It’s interesting to find out about how the locals care for the cats, where the cats live and what their names are. I think the book’s length is just right – enough stories to keep you reading for a while, without overstaying its welcome. Yes the whole book follows the same format so it would be boring to read lots of it at once, but I think this is a very enjoyable, light read if you just read one chapter or even just one page at a time. If you aren’t particularly obsessed with cats you’ll probably find it very uninteresting since it’s not really got any little interesting facts about cats as a species, just a bit of information about their lives. The authors approach all the locals without judgement as they should for a book like this. This book is about sharing stories about cats and observing how they live their lives, not judging people for what they can or can’t do or what they believe. We can’t judge them because we don’t have the same experiences or lives they do.Despite this book being imported from the US, I think it is still of interest to people around the world. The book itself is high quality and should last a long time. Great for sharing with others. Mine came with some sticky fingerprints on it, which I’m sure is Amazon’s fault and these can simply be cleaned off. Although I think Amazon really needs to start sorting this issue out because it happens with quite a few of the books I’ve ordered.I can thoroughly recommend this book to cat lovers. It is unlikely to appeal to general animal lovers. It would make a lovely gift for people of all ages, I think children would appreciate it, although perhaps not understand everything that is discussed in it. But there are lots of interesting pictures for them to look at. I think it’s designed to be a coffee table sort of book, rather than something you’d purposefully sit down to read for an extended period of time. Each chapter is nicely sectioned off so you feel satisfied without feeling the need to read on further. The other interesting stories are ready and waiting for you when you want them. At £25 yes it’s quite an expensive book, but considering it has been imported from the US and considering how much work has clearly gone into producing this, it is definitely worth it. It feels like a product of a love for cats and a desire to ensure the reader’s time is well spent with no regrets.

Review: This is a beautiful and educational book!I’ve been following Hannah and Andrew for many, many years on Instagram and I’ve also supported their non-profit organisation Orphan Kitten Club a couple of times. I’ve previously bought Hannah’s children’s books (Adventures in Fosterland), and Andrew’s Cats on Catnip, because I’m a fan of their work. They are both so passionate about cats and animal welfare in general, so I was very excited when I heard that their many travels would be put into a book about cats around the world. The fruit of their labour has turned out to be fantastic!Andrew’s photograpy is stunning and Hannah’s texts are truly informative. To read how many different nations love and care for (feral) cats is heartwarming. I have to admit that I shed a few tears whilst reading. The cats shown in the book are all cute, although I do have a soft spot for the kittens, ginger or tabby cats. If anyone counted all the cats inside this book: bravo to you; I gave up after a couple of pages. My one tiny complaint is the lack of a map: Hannah and Andrew visited thirty different countries and a world map with the marked places would have been cool to get an even better idea of the scope of their project.Still, if you are a cat lover and/or know one, this book would be the perfect (Christmas) gift! It also looks lovely as a coffeet table book.
