Title: More depth to an already immersive game
Review: This small expansion for base game Pest is fun and adds more depth to the game during your travels, you periodically encounter optional events while traveling the roads. The events remind me of those in Scythe. The encounters can offer you a chance to feed a pack of hungry dogs which in turn will allow you to add another healthy worker or encounter a desperate village that you can steal from. You don’t need this expansion to enjoy the game but it does increase the dread and question your morality. The artwork is beautiful and thematic and the price for it is well worth it. If you are already a Pest fan you will love this additional content.

Title: Very entertaining mid-weight Euro game
Review: I am a fan of Euro games. So naturally I am welcoming every Euro game, but this one got many other things going on for it. Theme. It is soaked in that Black Death plague theme. It is actually called Pest in the game not Plague. Pest being a nod towards rats, that were prime cause of bubonic plague. Even though game location is a fantasy world, you do recognize Middle Age Europe vibe easily.Components. Miniatures are top notch. Regular cardboard components are perfectly fine. You don’t have to buy Deluxe version of components, stock will do just fine. Art is gorgeous, although some may say game board is too dark, but it goes together with theme and icons are bright and colorful.I would suggest to buy central city miniature, while not crucial, it does add to the game board, especially painted. And get that 12 Event cards mini expansion a-la Scythe. Each card gives you 3 choices and you pick one that suits your situation.Gameplay. I did not play this game with others yet, so I will cover solo mode. Solo plays almost exactly as multiplayer with minor adjustments. You travel, place workers, trying to complete tasks to get victory points, curing the sick and rebuilding what was destroyed by Pest(plague). Every round Pest will spread in certain locations (cards will tell you where) making your progress harder.You play 6 rounds. In first 2 rounds you only have 2 workers, in 3 and 4 you are getting one more, and in 5-6 you getting another for a total of 4. So you will have more actions to perform in later rounds.Actions available are Move, Build, Research, Assign, Cure, Gather. Each worker will let you perform 2 actions. With 4 workers you will be able to perform 8 actions.There are some errors in english translation in the rulebook, but publisher already released errata and FAQ on their website.All in all it is a very solid Euro game.
