Title: Gets hot quick.
Review: I got this iron today and already used it. The accessories with it are very good, I like the interchangeable tips. The stand is useful and the iron stays in place good. The buttons that control the adjustable temp can get changed easily so that should be something to pay attention too, but is a nice feature as is the LCD readout for temperature. I’m sure it will suit many needs and get the job done easily. Feels solid and the design is good. I’m sure a person that solders a lot will find this iron handy and the price won’t break the bank.

Title: Typical [-] temperature button location design flaw
Review: This iron served me well for over 3 years, until my foot caught the cord and dragged it off the workbench and killed it.While it’s great to have the digital temperature readout, all of these have the same design flaw: the – temperature button is located in the way of the hand. In the middle of soldering, suddenly the solder isn’t melting properly, the tip remains too long on the piece, the PCB gets too hot, sometimes the pad lifts off the substrate, and the PCB is ruined.These digital irons should have a temperature locking feature. Press & hold both temperature buttons to lock/unlock adjustments.This is why, after not finding irons with that feature, nor any with the – button above the LCD, I’ve replaced this with an iron that has a temperature control dial. Set and forget it. For SMD work, I never need to change my temperature settings anyway.

Title: OK for light duty with 3D prints
Review: I would never consider using this for soldering. However, it’s just fine for smoothing out the leftover bits of plastic after removing support material from a 3D print.The display is difficult to read. There is no light to indicate that the iron is turned on or at the correct temperature. The included stand is a joke. The included cardboard box full of “high purity rosin” seems more trouble than it’s worth, and since I’m not going to be doing any soldering, it’s not an issue for me.It feels very cheaply made, and for the price, I wouldn’t expect more.
