Title: Very easy to install. Included wires needed for the hard drive.. GREAT product. APP work great
Review: Really like this product. very easy to set up. It is also very quite the other product I had was making a loud humming noise (perhaps the fan was going bad). I had a Q_SEE DVR. I used Amcrest 4K UltraHD 16 Channel AI DVR to replace the old DVR. it worked with my existing cameras..Also, the APP is excellent. Couldn’t be any happier.one quick note, if you are setting up to view cameras at the “LOCATION” use IP/DOMAIN setting. If you want to review the cameras remotely (from another location”, then use “P2P” setting when adding a device in your smart phone.

Title: It’s good enough
Review: I work for a tv station and got this to replace an older Amcrest from 2010ish doing the exact same thing. The older Amcrest had some inputs that were going bad, a fan that went bad, cover off and required only Internet Explorer to access it over the network. I got this since we use it as a analog only confidence multiviewer, the hard drive was interesting to install and it was ready to go in under 30 miniets. I set everyth9ng up as before and not all the video streams came back after each reboot, I eventually disabled the auto reboot. No need to use a phone or have an account to setup. Still compatible with the remaining 2 security cameras that came woth the last one, as well as any Composite video source like atsc tuners, sat and cable boxes.

Title: Very good DVR/NVR
Review: I have Amcrest AMDV5116-AI DVR since Feb 22nd, tested it for two days and then installed it and connected 16 TVI cameras and 2 network cameras. I will add more IP cameras in the future.I had old DVR, recording 1080p only, but I already installed 5k cameras set to 1080p, because I found that pictures from 5k cameras set to 1080p is better than from 1080p cameras. Finally I decided to buy 4k DVR, I tried Annke, but this one didn’t record motion triggered video when output was set to 2160p, so I returned it. I checked several other DVRs ; Hikvision, Camius etc. No DVR I tested or checked with tech support did it. I was upset, but I found Amcrest AMDV5116-AI on Amazon, read manual and ordered it. I am happy that I did. This unit is small, smaller then my old DVR and smaller than Annke or Hikvision DVRs.It took me some time to set DVR to record Motion triggered video only, but it looks that finally works. This DVR defaults to 24/7 recording which I don’t need it. Right now I use it to record motion triggered videos only, I didn’t test AI yet.I set output to 1080p initially. When I changed resolution of 5k cameras to 4k, entire picture from 5k cameras was jumping up and down two or three lines, however when I set output to 2160p, picture is not jumping anymore, just some elements on the picture are moving up and down, like rock, some gravel, gutter on the house or bumper on the car. No big deal for me, because 4k cameras have picture solid like a rock. I will slowly replace all old dying cameras by 4k cameras. When output is set to 2160p, only HDMI is working, because VGA is limited to 1080p. There is no problem because there are splitters on the market sending the same HDMI video to 2÷4 monitors. There is small glitch which Amcrest should fix: When I go to search and slide red line to point where is no recording it doesn’t jump to next recording, like all other DVRs I know. It should. When I slide to yellow block, (motion triggered recording) it plays and jump over empty spaces just fine. I reported this to Amcrest and their answer was: “DVR is operating as intended but such features could be considered in future models.” Operating as intended? Not jumping to recording from empty space? What I like in this DVR, that setting alarm, I can set not only sensitivity, but also threhhold.Android application has bug. I set cameras in order from 1 to 16, but next days when I started application the order of first eight is random with incorrect channel numbers. Generally I am very satisfied with this DVR and hope that it is going to work for years like my old Cantek DVR. (Still working after nine or ten years in service 24/7)

Title: Not a bad DVR but you can’t easily change the camera names and mine came used, not new as labelled
Review: I purchased two of these from the Amcrest store and one had clearly been opened, a password had been put on it and it was missing the SATA cables and screws. I decided to keep it but I was disappointed that something advertised as new was not, in fact, new.

Title: useless playback
Review: After using amcrest for quite some time I decided to upgrade to a newer version of the NVR. Huge mistake! Playback is completely useless. What good is an NVR if you can’t review what has been recorded! Complete waste of money!
