Title: One word: Excellent
Review: Preface: If you hate review fluff, check the pros and cons.I’m a novice when it comes to installing car stuff. I drive a 2013 VW Jetta TDI. Unfortunately, by my own hand I lost my previous microSD card (butterfingers) so I’m afraid to pull the new one to post photos/videos so you’re gonna have to take my word for it. I really don’t want to lose a 2nd one to the vent goblins.Kingslim knocked this out of the park. The D2 is the first dashcam I’ve bought and I’m a picky shopper. If you’re anything like me, you hunt and hunt for the perfect price and excellent reviews. I settled on the D2, but calling it a settlement is taking away credit. Once I started to take the interstate daily for work, I knew I needed some backup so I went shopping. Video from the front and rear cameras (if you use the rear camera) are in their own folders on the microSD card. Enough talk, lets get into the meat. The Install:In the box came the camera itself, a mounting bracket, the cables. The cables being a mini USB and a video cable that connects the rear camera to the front, some adhesive clips and a plastic trim tool. I was honestly not expecting to get a trim tool but it made the job so much easier. I was able to almost completely hide the cables for the cam itself as well as the rear window camera. The install process took me about 2.5 hours but I’m a perfectionist. If you didn’t care about hiding cables it’d take maybe 30 minutes. Everything worked on the first go which is all I ever ask for. The instructions were clear and the photos make navigating the menu okay but not super easy.Pros:+ Excellent quality for both camera and photo. The 2.5k resolution picks up every minute detail from license plates to distant signs. The rear camera is also excellent+ No skimps on night vision. Calling it “night vision” subverts some expectations because it’s really just a crank of the ISO, but even then it’s not blown out and it’s super clear. The focus distant isn’t as far as day time but it’s still impressive.+ Construction quality is mostly plastic but it’s still super solid. There is no give or even a hint of a bend. Rest assured if you do wind up in an accident, the camera will absolutely survive (unless you REALLY mess up)+ The cables are long. Like extra long. I would always rather have more than less and I tucked the excess behind some panels under the dash+ No app. This one might be considered a con to some, but honestly the layer of complexity and reliance on an app to pull footage can be a hindrance. Just pull the SD and its footage and go.+ Set it and forget it. Run the setup, get it dialed in how you like and it’s set. No messing with menus even after the car is turned off and on. The settings stay even without a hardwire kit.+ Automatic footage lock. The dashcam uses a loop recording method. Meaning it does cycle xx minute recordings and overwrites old ones. But if it detects a high G force (an accident) it will lock the file and prevent it from being overrode. A nice handy feature.Cons:- No SD included. A bit of a minor con but one none the less. But nowadays, SD cards are so cheap why would it matter. Always worth noting- No hardwire kit option. I could be wrong but I couldn’t find a Kingslim hardwire kit so 3rd party is all there is. If you want park monitoring, you’ll need one. I would prefer a first party kit because it’s guaranteed to work. If I’m wrong about this, this con will disappear.- The SD card is a press fit. Self explanatory, I lost my original SD card because its a bit of a pain to get right. There’s no orientation diagram so it’s a 50/50 guess. Mess up and you might drop it.- The menu is a bit… bulky? If you hit the menu it’ll just slap you with a bunch of icons. I’d recommend messing around for a bit to get the hang of it.- The adhesive isn’t great on the clips. I only used one and it’s already fallen off. The 2nd one I used hasn’t fallen off yet. I suggest the ol’ tuck and forget method. Conclusion:Buy it.Longer conclusion:The Kingslim D2 is an excellent little dashcam for its price. The peace of mind that comes with it from the harsh north midwest winters and, erm, “drivers” that you may encounter adds an extra layer of security in case something happens. It’s easy to install, comes with everything you need (just pick up a microSD card) and you might have some clips left over in case they fall off over time. But, the pros far outweigh the cons on this little camera. Both the day and night quality of this camera are excellent at 2.5k resolution so you don’t have to worry about blurry shots. You don’t have to be a car wizard to install this. A 10 year old could do it so I promise you can too. Get it, Set it and forget it.

Title: Great solution to your problems
Review: Got this for my car because people drive insane in my area. The video quality was great (especially in the night), even on the app. Great price point and the size doesn’t get in your way or become distracting. The WiFi connectivity was a bit tricky and I don’t love that if I have WiFi within my car already, do view the video on the app you will need to disconnect my WiFi in my car (I.e. turning off apple CarPlay). Other than that I can live with it. Had to get someone else to install it because I’mJust a girl.

Title: Outstanding Dash Cam Image with a bunch of great features and modes
Review: The D4 Dash Cam is a huge upgrade to my original dash cam. The D4 sports a 4K front view camera and a 1080p back up camera that remotely mounts for clear unobstructed view of cars behind you. The box contains all the parts you need to get up and going quickly. The camera and GPS header come as two pieces that require you to push together and connect and the GPS header has a Micro USB port that powers the camera via the cigarette lighter plug adaptor. The USB cable is 14-15 feet so you can route the cable around your window and down the frame to make the power connection and keep the cable out of the way and out of sight. The backup camera comes with a long cable to route the cable to your license plate area or a suitable area to mount it in the rear of the vehicle. I decided to mount my backup camera alternately and use it as a back seat camera to monitor my 2-year-old grandson when he’s riding with me. Both the main front camera and the backup camera come with mounting hardware and 3m style mounting tape that makes setup quick and effortless. I plugged the front camera together and was able to route my power cable quickly. I then decided to run my backup camera wire over the headliner and down the rear driver area column trim where I mounted my camera to the rear window facing back in and downwards to capture my backseat area. Both cameras sport a great view and the 4k Image on the front camera is phenomenal. The camera captures both audio and video and stores images in separated folders on the MicroSD card which also ships with the unit. The separate files make finding your desired file quick and easy. The timestamps are recorded based on the GPS signal timestamp and help to locate a specific event. The files break down further into Collision/Shock Events, Photos, Parked Events and Regular Video Footage on your travel. You have 3 selections of sensitivity for the Collision and Parked events. The parked feature is great for those times when you are away from your vehicle as the camera automatically starts recording when an event is triggered so you can quickly acquire the needed footage to show what happened well you were away. All footage watermarks the date, time and the current speedometer reading as indicated by GPS signal. Another note is the backup camera when installed as a backup camera can be connected to your reverse lights by way of a 12-volt supply voltage sense wire. This automatically switches the front camera view to the backup camera and super imposes a guide pathway for backing up. When running the camera in regular mode, you can pick single view for the front or back camera or use a PIP Picture-in-Picture mode with the Front or Back camera in the large view and the opposite as an inset. This camera has been great so far and hopefully I won’t even need to grab collision footage but I’m happy knowing I have the option should I require it.
