Title: A True Instant Camera with Classic Film Feel & Modern Features
Review: I purchased the Fujifilm Instax Mini 99 as a Christmas gift for my wife, and it has been a fantastic purchase. We’ve always loved Fujifilm cameras and have never really had a bad experience with them, and this model is no exception.Build Quality & DesignThe matte black finish gives it a premium feel, and it still has that classic instant camera design that makes film photography so enjoyable. Unlike some of Fujifilm’s other models, which allow digital previews before printing, this one stays true to the old-school instant camera experience, relying on exposure and film alone—which is exactly what makes instant photography so unique and detailed.Ease of Use & FeaturesDespite having modern enhancements, the camera remains very easy to use. It comes with five shooting modes (Normal, Indoor, Sports, Double Exposure, and Bulb), as well as a built-in self-timer and flash control, which adds a lot of creative flexibility. My wife specifically wanted a film-based Instax with more control options, and this model delivers with:Adjustable brightness levels for more exposure control6 color effect settings to enhance different moodsMacro and Landscape modes to capture both close-ups and distant shotsBattery LifeSo far, the battery life has been solid, lasting through multiple film packs without needing frequent recharging. It’s been used practically every day, and we haven’t had any major issues with power.Fun to Use & Value for MoneyThis camera is a blast to use, whether you’re a beginner or a longtime film lover. The double exposure mode alone makes it worth considering, as it allows for more creative shots than standard Instax cameras. My only real complaint is the price—almost $200 is steep—but considering the new features and build quality, it makes sense.Final ThoughtsIf you’re looking for an instant camera that captures the essence of film photography while still offering modern shooting options, this is a perfect choice. Whether you’re new to cameras or a longtime film user, the Instax Mini 99 is an excellent addition to any collection.5 stars—highly recommended!

Title: Love this as a successor to the Neo90
Review: I was devastated when my Neo90 stopped working, but saw that this new model was coming out. It has all the same features and more. I love that it is still completely analog, unlike the Evo.I think my favorite improvement is that the lightness of the photo can be adjusted. I’ve found that adjusting it lighter when taking photos indoors helps improve the photo significantly. Without it, and if you use flash, the background often becomes very dark compared to the people. But having the ability to adjust this helps a lot!I don’t really use the color filter options, I find it kind of gimmicky, but it’s nice to have the option. One thing I found a little annoying is that the color and lightness dials are a little too easy to change. Sometimes if I’ve had it in my bag or it’s been passed around, I won’t notice that the color dial has been turned, and my photo will come out with the green filter which I didn’t want. Always double check the dials are correct before taking the photo.I also like that you can adjust the lens to 3 different distances (It tells you the distance ranges when you turn the lens to turn on the camera). Very helpful.Love the clean classic camera look. Wish it came in different colors like the Neo90 did, but overall a great succesor to the Neo90.

Title: DOGWATER VIEWFINDER, GOOD GOD.
Review: Excellent camera, but good lord who designed the viewfinder on this thing? It is honestly one of, if not THE, worst viewfinders I have used in recent years…The older Mini 40 and even the Lomo’Instant have better viewfinders – how does this model which costs twice as much have a viewfinder that’s twice as small, and four-times worse to use? Good luck with horizontal shots or using this with glasses… What a PITA for such an otherwise wonderful camera. My only other gripe is the choice of battery – while I appreciate long life LiPo, I would prefer to have the choice of using my own AA size LiPo’s, or the option of using Alkaline batteries as backups when LiPos go dry, get damaged, fail to charge, etc… Feels like one more excuse to lock me into giving more money to Fuji for expensive spares and replacements. If you’d like to hear some nice things about this camera, read literally any other of the glowing reviews here. Plenty of people singing it’s praise, not enough pointing out the flaws. You should get one anyway – like me, you’ll just have to learn to adapt and accept the dogwater viewfinder and proprietary battery.

Title: Love this camera! A true instant film camera that’s easy to use
Review: Love this camera! A welcomed upgrade to the Mini 90 Neo. A true analog film instant camera without the digital processing. With that being said – it requires a little more understanding of how to shoot manual photography. I love the imperfections and uniqueness of every photo. This version also offers a few more controls over exposure and creative stylized looks.

Title: So many settings!
Review: This is my first instant camera and it doesn’t disappoint. I love all of the features it has though it does have a bit of a learning curve. At about $0.70 per photo it can be a bit pricey at first (you’ll end up taking photos that don’t turn out well when you start using it due to all of the settings) but it’s a great camera in so many ways.

Title: Excellent instant camera with good controls
Review: I have researched many instant camera options, including legacy cameras, the SX70, and newer versions. This camera, the Fujifilm Instax Mini 99 Instant Film Camera, provides the best of the other cameras and few of the drawbacks. Of specific note is the ability to adjust exposure, control the flash, multiple exposures, and provide a color splash in the camera. It is a good size, not too big or small. Very pleased thus far with the quality of the images. Highly recommended.
