Title: Great fun!
Review: Love this spin on Pictionary! We’ve even used the cards as lighting rounds for regular Pictionary. Fun and challenging for the whole family. I don’t recommend using the dry erase markers it comes with on a real dry erase board. It’s a bit difficult to wipe off.

Title: For ages 13+, but can be modified for younger ages
Review: I didn’t see an age recommendation when I ordered this Pictionary Sketch Squad game, so I was surprised to see 13+ on the box. After playing with my 9-year-old, I can see why the age isn’t lower. But, I also think the game can work for younger kids if playing with an adult or taking some cards out of the deck. I would say about 8 and up depending on reading level. What makes this game hard to classify in age, besides being able to read the cards, is that there are pop culture references that most young kids won’t know. In fact, I didn’t know a few like Green Book and Shazam, and I’m not sure that even teens will know It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia or The Vampire Diaries. If kids are playing with adults as a family game, then they will still be able to draw clues and the cooperative nature of the game will help. Otherwise, it might help to take the pop culture cards out or screen them, and luckily they are marked with a symbol by the clues. The vast majority of the cards are well known things that all ages will get. For example, our first card was breakfast, and my son and I both got it easily. There are a small number that kids might not know like MRI, spikeball and NFT, but I haven’t come across any that were objectionable for young kids. The only other thing that I modified was extending the time that I set on my phone’s timer. I’m a slow drawer, and I was having trouble with 25 seconds per clue. And, I learned the hard way that you need to remember to wipe the cards off quickly or they are harder to erase later. I’m not sure how long that the markers and cards will last, but we have dry erase boards that we could use.Overall, I think this is a good family game. Just consider what ages will be playing and adjust as needed.

Title: Really Fun Twist On Pictionary! But do some tweaking Mattel!
Review: My ‘tween granddaughters had a blast playing this new take on Pictionary and it literally ruled the day at a recent gathering. It’s super clever, and everyone plays at the same time, so there is no waiting for others to take their turn. Essentially, each player is given a word to draw and everyone draws at the same time. Then the players collaborate, guess what each drawing is of (the individual artists can’t reveal what they drew), and what they all have in common. Once they are in agreement, the answer is revealed and the team earns a point if they are correct. The team of players need to solve 6 rounds before getting 3 wrong to beat the game. The premise sounded a tad boring to me, but honestly, this turned out to be tons of fun, incredibly interactive and suitable for ages 8 and up though with some caveats. If I worked for Mattel, I’d make a few improvements. First, the game is nicely compact once assembled. I’d forgo the large flimsy box and offer this in a more compact and sturdy box. The instructions could be reduced to a little foldable brochure and still be sufficient for the game. This game comes with 6 coated cardboard cards to draw on, and small markers to draw with. But the markers are not dry erase, and we had trouble scrubbing the drawings off the cards to reuse them. Switch those out for legit dry erase markers, problem solved! We ended up using scrap paper and pens. It was just easier. One final issue – even though the ‘tweens really loved this and could play it well, they encountered too many words they weren’t familiar with – Kombucha, Colonoscopy, Banger etc.All in all though, this is an pretty awesome family/friends game so I’m rating it 5 stars even though it could use some improving. It’s been a long time since a new worthwhile, easy to learn, family friendly game has appeared on the market. And this is it, in my opinion. Highly recommend, especially if you find yourself getting bored with the old standbys. This really does offer high caliber game play. And it’s a lot of fun.

Title: Great upgrade from regular Pictionary
Review: As someone who grew up playing the sort of ‘campfire Pictionary’ that involved a lot of shouting and improvisation, it was interesting to see how the actual branded game has evolved over time! Unlike improvised Pictionary this can be played with 2 players and beyond, because everyone is basically on one large team working together as the end goal is everyone figuring out the final answer together. It’s a bit surprising that no timer is included, though nowadays everyone has a smartphone with a timer and I feel like the hourglass timer from old board games is always the first thing to get lost anyway. Also, this way you can adjust the time allotted to fit the age or skill range of the group. As others have observed, the markers are a bit hard to wipe off and I can see the cards getting a bit grimy over time with the residue. The whole game packs up neatly into the compact main plastic canister which is a nice touch to prevent things getting lost.

Title: Kids loved it!
Review: This was a game that our whole family enjoyed. All 4 kids (11-24) had fun and lots of laughs were had. Some of us aren’t the best artists but that’s what makes it fun!

Title: Impressive and fun!
Review: When I ordered this, I wasn’t sure of what exactly could be done to a classic game like Pictionary that would revamp it.The concept itself is a lot of fun since it’s cooperative and you only need two people minimum. What I’m most impressed by, however, are the actual components.Everything is self-contained in the little card-holding box that doubles as your game “board” during play.I was even able to throw away the box because there’s a space for everything and it doesn’t take up more room than a standard desk pen holder. The little dry erase boards aren’t the best quality but this whole game is only $20. I would’ve expected old school tiny notebooks for that low of a price so I’ll take the boards as they are!
