Title: Great cookbook!
Review: I had high hopes and high standards for Lisa’s cookbook as I had purchased 2 of her chicken keeping books and was loving them. I am thoroughly impressed with this cookbook! The recipes and methods are very creative and very thorough, there are some I never would have imagined. Her methods of cooking with eggs is amazing. As to be expected, there are egg standards like hollandaise sauce, mayonnaise, omelets, etc, however, they are thorough and she even includes new ways to prepare them in some cases and sometimes even multiple ways. Even the simple fried egg is made glorious with multiple ways (not just sunny side up or a change in seasoning!) and how to achieve multiple levels of doneness. In all her recipes, she is through and describes each in a wonderful way. Some include a bit of a back story or cultural information but all of them tell you about the dish itself so that you know what you are making and how to approach it. I feel at ease just reading her description and the instructions on things I never would have approached in the past due to complexity, but she makes them simple somehow. The photos are gorgeous, the layout is well thought through and the hardcover is thick and sturdy. It makes an excellent addition to my small stash of treasured cookbooks. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves eggs but am tired of the usual fried egg or scrambled. Now, I’m hungry!

Title: Makes you feel like you can be a real chef!
Review: I’m a new chicken farmer and have had my 3-4 girls for only about two years. Once I realized we were going to be getting SO many eggs I was wondering what on Earth I was going to do with them all.Enter The Fresh Eggs Daily Cookbook – my savior from drowning in eggs.Lo and behold, there are some really cool recipes in there!I really enjoyed reading the Introduction and have learned so much from the beginning of the cookbook about how to cook eggs in so many different ways, like poached, steamed, fried, and oven-cooked. I also love the comments about each recipe that gives some insight of that particular recipe’s origin and/or another tidbit as to why Lisa enjoys that recipe.I’m slowly making my way through these yummy recipes and look forward to trying even more new things. Swedish Egg Coffee, for example; I’ve never heard of such a thing but look forward to trying it out! I’ve included a couple pictures of my adventure of cooking new ways with eggs so far.The first: Creamy Spiced Rice Pudding (found on page 228) turned out so yummy! This was the very first recipe I tried. I did not have any regular oranges so I substituted them with kumquats and it was one of the best things ever. And look how pretty! The second picture: Homemade Marshmallows (found on page 271). I never in my wildest dreams thought that I, of all people, could make marshmallows from scratch. It took me a few days to actually try it as I was a little intimidated by the recipe. Making marshmallows is a process; with needing a thermometer for the syrup and whipping egg whites to soft peaks. But I love marshmallows so much, that I had to give it a try. So, I gathered up everything I would need and read the recipe over and over till I gathered up my nerve to really jump in. Boy, am I glad I did! This picture is of my first attempt at making marshmallows. Store-bought marshmallows are now just so disappointing! These are DELICIOUS. So much so that they were gone in a matter of a couple of days. I’ve made them 3 times now…and it’s only been a month!Let the adventure continue!

Review: This is a wonderful cookbook filled with useful practical recipes using eggs. I keep chickens and these recipes definitely help with dealing with the abundant eggs I get in the spring and summer. The recipes are made with normal, grocery store ingredients, not things i would have to order from Amazon. Title: A must for new chicken keepers
Review: I’ve wanted chickens for years and (like many people) finally took the plunge during the egg shortage. Of course, now I have to figure out what to do with five to seven eggs a day… I’m still working my way through the recipes but everything I’ve tried is delicious. The recipes are easy to follow, though there is some flipping back and forth between components referenced in other recipes, but still worth it and the food photography is drool-worthy. I heartily recommend it, especially to anyone who suddenly has extra eggs on hand and needs to shake up their usual go-to egg dishes.

Title: an abundance of great sounding recipes
Review: The Fresh Eggs Daily Cookbook has so many pretty pictures that it could be a “coffee table book”. Photography is outstanding, recipes are simple but delicious sounding (I have not tried any of them yet) and you could go 100 days in a row without eating the same thing twice! I might be a tad prejudiced because I’m waiting for MY chickens to start producing lots of eggs, and I’m a cookbook-a-holic who loves to read recipes. But I highly recommend this book

Review: I love eggs, so I bought this book from Lisa Steele. The book is a delight. Lisa started with a primer on eggs: types, health benefits, how to store and freeze them, and many more. Then, she went on to the recipes. Lisa divided the recipes into egg or egg-based recipes for different meals. I like her emphasis on simple, practical recipes you can modify or use immediately. She ends with a section on sauces, and this section is invaluable. The writing is simple: nothing complicated. The photography is marvelous. If you love eggs, buy this book.
