Title: Manbily 65-Inch Monopod – Tremendous Value, Great Features
Review: This monopod from Manbily is more than just a good option when you are on a budget. It has all the features to be a good option for most people, even those with a higher budget. The advantages of having something that is both well designed but also reasonably priced are many.PROS:++ 5 Section aluminum body is both strong and durable, holding up to real world use out in the field++ Because of the mix of materials including many strategic plastic components, it’s also light++ It’s also more forgiving for novices; gone are the days of scratching my hand on the steel head on my old monopod platform++ Included contrast red paint allows you to quickly see the separation in the sections to quickly extend or retract, even if you are out on a super bright location like a snow cap++ Integrated grip, handle and strap make for a sturdy hold++ There is the ability to service or mod this monopod as it’s designed so that you can unscrew the top and swap out some or all of those parts if you really wanted or needed to++ Both a rubber and a spiked tip are included and can be swapped out with relative ease, depending on your needs++ A seriously long max extension, which allows you to reach well over 6 feet in height with most camera rigs on top++ Included budget carrying case does have a weather resistant sleeve near the top and integrated drawstring cinch, but see below for some of the negatives++ Included phone holder is better than most for budget accessories like thisCONS:– Some of the sections do include quite a bit of lateral play, particularly at full extension and on the smallest thinnest section; that makes this less sturdy than some alternatives in this class– Budget carrying has the negatives of feeling a bit cheap and not having any included area to store the extra tip when not in use; having that extra tip just free in that carrying case is a guarantee you will lose it if you take it on site with you– It’s advertised as a walking stick, but the lateral play in the sections means you will not likely want to use it as such because it will wear out and become less rigid over time if you do try to use it as a walking stick– The rubber rings on each section can easily be over-loosened; in theory this could allow you to service or modify each section, but there are plastic shims in between that also can easily fall out or get broken or lost; this is a minor issue but I would still call this a design flaw that might impact some people in the field doing quick changesCONCLUSIONIt is true that I found some deficiencies when using this monopod. But despite the imperfections I am super happy with it overall. Considering the convenience at this price tier it’s difficult to be too critical. I would recommend this and buy more in a heartbeat.

Title: Basic and useful
Review: I have a habit of losing monopods, three including the one I left on the NYC subway. So after the last one I lost I haven’t bought another. I’ve missed the usefulness of a monopod but didn’t want to invest a lot of $$$ only to lose it. Again. This Manbily monopod is reasonably priced and was worth trying out. First, it’s lightweight. Lightweight enough that I should be able to wear it’s bag across my shoulder and avoid putting it down somewhere I will forget it. And lightweight enough I won’t begrudge the weight to carry around. And lightweight enough that when I adapt it to a light pole my drafted help won’t complain (as much) about having to hold it when adding light to portraits.Mostly though, I’ll be using it to help hold my camera steady for longer exposures or when I’m a little shakier than is optimum, something that happens more frequently as I get older. The walking stick function has already come in handy for stability when I sprained my ankle.I’m short enough that even as a monopod I don’t really need to extend the last section. That helps with the stability as that last section on any monopod or tripod is the one most likely to be the weak point. When extended this tightened the sections tighten easily and well. I’ve tried putting more of my weight on it and it doesn’t budge. I can’t ask for more from a monopod. Stay open, stay stable and we’re golden.I haven’t tried the phone mount. I’m not that shaky yet.I’m pleased enough with this monopod that I REALLY want to avoid losing it. But would replace it with the same in a heartbeat if I did.

Title: Works great!
Review: Out on a boat, rocking and a rolling with my D750 and 150-600mm lens on with this monopod. Took the weight off my arms and steadied the camera better than just holding it. The monopod felt sturdy even with that big lens.
