Title: Well designed mount that will keep your camera secure while hiking.
Review: As an avid backpacker AND a landscape photographer, I’ve been looking forward to reviewing this one. The first thing I noticed right out of the box is that it’s definitely larger than I initially expected compared to other strap mounts on the market. However, that size translates directly into a feeling of serious sturdiness. This thing is built like a tank – all metal construction- and feels incredibly robust. Honestly, it felt so solid and sturdy that I had absolutely no concerns hanging about $2000 worth of camera and lens from it while hiking last weekend. Neewer rates it to hold up to 22 lbs, and based on the solid feel, I believe it. Another small detail I really appreciated, especially as someone who hikes rough terrain often, is that all the edges are nicely rounded and polished smooth. There are no sharp corners to snag on clothing or straps while you’re moving around, which is a detail that many clips of this type miss.Functionally, this clip delivers exactly what they say it will. Solid, adjustable, high capacity, lightweight, and easy to use. I also particularly liked the tensioning mechanism used to clamp it onto the shoulder strap. It adjusts smoothly to accommodate different material thicknesses, up to 10mm thick and 65mm wide, which covers most backpack straps and belts, and holds very securely once tightened down. The quick-release system works well, allowing you to detach your camera easily with a button press when needed. It comes with its own square Arca-compatible plate. I’ve already used it comfortably with my full-body mirrorless camera and GoPro, and it handled both perfectly. While the overall build feels exceptionally solid, I have one minor point of concern. The little hinged cover that sits over the quick-release button tends to catch slightly when you swing it out of the way. The machining of the hinge pin apparently isn’t the smoothest. It works fine currently, but it makes me wonder a little about the long-term durability of that specific hinge mechanism with repeated use. Despite that tiny concern, this clip is the solution I’ve been looking for to keep my camera accessible but secure while hiking. The secure hold, ease of use, and rugged feel make it a standout. I’d definitely call it a must-buy if you’re a backpacker looking for a quality camera mount – in fact, I trust it enough that I’m planning to rely on it for my upcoming Mount Whitney ascent this fall.

Title: Very professional product, I trust it with my cameras!
Review: I can’t begin to tell you how nicely put together and serious a piece of hardware this is…It’s anodized aluminum and I can tell it’s made to very good tolerances. Especially when I open the belt/strap slot and place a belt inside and close it. My belt wouldn’t budge, giving me a lot of trust it would hold up any of my cameras on my side with zero worries. The mechanism to put in on a strap or belt has little ‘redundancies’ so I’d have to do more than one step to remove the whole thing. This is good because I won’t accidentally knock a camera off of this mount without meaning to do so.There is a quick release button to remove the release plate, and if I don’t press the button, IT IS NOT COMING OFF. Another very trustworthy and serious thing about this Neewer Camera Clip Mount. If you are bringing your camera along on a hike, this is the perfect way to keep it close and ready to shoot on a moment’s notice, but safe in the meantime while walking the trail. There’s a tightening screw that allows me to adjust how much grip the strap mount plate has on the side opposite the hinging mechanism, so I can really dial in the entire plate for maximum gripping strength regardless of the thickness of the belt or strap I’m trying to grab with it.When mounted on a backback strap, this holds my Insta exactly where I want it, to get that first person shot I want.Really great piece of hardware, I am going to be looking for even more interesting ways to use it…

Title: Massively rugged clip fits on straps and belts
Review: This rugged aluminum alloy strap and belt clip will fit materials up to 10mm thick and 65mm wide. That covers a lot of territory. I plan on using it for my Insta360 and Osmo cameras, but will support far heftier loads like mirrorless, DSLR and video cameras. Neewer says it will hold 22 pounds and I believe them. The clip is big as such things go: 3.6 x 1.7 x 1.1 inches, but light at 4.2 ounces.According to Neewer “The QR mounting clamp is only compatible with Peak Design QR plates Capture Clip and the included Arca type plate. The QR mounting clamp is only compatible with Peak Design QR plates Capture Clip and the included Arca type plate”. I’m not sure of what the QR stuff means, but it works fine with the Arca plate. The quick-release mechanism is excellent. Smooth, fast and simple.Mounting on strap or belt is simple, but secure. It’s a bit on the bulky side, but your camera will stay put with this clip.Jerry
