THIS IS AN EXPANSION TO TOKAIDO: This is not a standalone game. You will need a copy of the Tokaido Deluxe Edition base game in order to play with this expansion.
CONTINUE YOUR TOKAIDO ADVENTURES: Tokaido Matsuri expands players’ journey across the East Sea road with unique festivals for them to partake in.
MATSURI EXPANSION: Traditional Japanese festivities and sixteen new travelers are now part of the wonderful Tokaido journey, with these matsuri (the Japanese word for “festival”) being triggered by the arrival of the travelers at the intermediate inns, punctuating the path with new and unique events.
EXPERIENCE NEW CONTENT: Matsuri brings new cards and tokens to the game. With this expansion, the players experience Japanese feasts and festivals. These cards modify the way each section of the road is played. This doesn’t transform the game, but adds even more depth and strategy.
NUMBER OF PLAYERS AND AVERAGE PLAYTIME: This thrilling adventure game is made for 2 to 5 players and is suitable for ages 8 and older. Average playtime is approximately 45 minutes.

Title: Game extension
Review: Great addition, but was unaware that you needed other extension prior to using this. This game can be tricky as the instructions take a while to understand the full concept. Plan for over an hour of game play! Best if played with at least 4 players.

Title: This is a great expansion…BUT a LOT of it requires the other expansion to use!
Review: So don’t get me wrong, we love the expansion, but we are really limited on what we can use from it because we didn’t know you needed the Crossroads expansion to use a lot of the cards and features. When I say a lot, I do mean a lot. So many of the characters have features that only work with the Crossroads pieces and some of the major changes that are made by certain cards have almost no effect because they need the Crossroads additions. This meant pairing back quite a bit of Matsuri to use it. Perhaps we will get the Crossroads expansion at some point, but we were a bit disappointed to find this out only after we had received it. It should be in the game description very clearly stated next to the part that lists the need for the original game to play.

Title: Can’t use this expansion pack with having the CrossRoads Expansion as well
Review: FYI: The base game is lovely, but when I received this expansion pack it noted that you must have the CrossRoads expansion pack also, in addition to the initial board game, in order to use Matsuri expansion. The CrossRoads expansion pack is out of stock everywhere I could find and can only be purchased on Ebay at a cost of $70, plus shipping as of today…

Review: Básicamente es el set de miniaturas correspondientes a los viajeros extra incluidos en la expansión Matsuri (que es un producto por separado). La calidad de las figuras es bastante buena, y el juego se ve muy vistoso con ellas. Vale la pena si ya tienes el juego base, la expansión Matsuri Y el paquete Deluxe, que tiene las miniaturas de los viajeros del juego base – de otra forma, te quedas con un set incompleto de viajeros/figuras. Lo compré porque ya tengo los otros productos de Tokaido, pero creo que hubiera sido mejor que incluyeran todas las figuras en una sola expansión deluxe, en vez de hacerte comprar dos productos.
