Title: An amazingly effective product with an unusual, comical approach.
Review: As I’ve been getting older (argh) I’ve noticed that I’m getting more nose hair than usual. This has been really bothersome, and at first I bought one of those electronic nose hair trimmers. It… kind of helped. It made the nose hairs shorter, when it got them, which wasn’t often enough for my liking. So, then, I decided to buy some nose hair wax. I thought the box for this one looked amusing, and it had good reviews… so I gave it a shot, and I’m sure glad that I did.Kenashii provides everything you need: The cup-o-wax (don’t forget to nuke it on 50% power, y’all), the sticks, some “post-waxing balm wipes,” the gently adhesive mustache covers, the cotton bag, and the instructions. So, you put the mustache covers over any whiskers you may have under the nasal openings, nuke the wax, get some on the sticks, try not to get it too early when it’s running all over the place (you’ll learn), and then shove that up your nose for a couple of minutes. All of this part is super-easy.Then… you yank the suckers out. Does it hurt? Surprisingly, no. I mean, it’s not joyously comfortable, but if you’re thinking “ripping out nose hairs has got to hurt like crazy” — it doesn’t! Once that wax has set in and you pull those sticks down, it’s an odd feeling, but not bad at all!And are they effective? I’m not going to share photos, but holy poo, yes they are. The first time I tried it, just from looking into my nostrils in the mirror, I figured I’d be pulling out maybe eight or ten hairs per nostril. Oh, I was so mistaken. I regularly pull out at least two dozen hairs PER NOSTRIL. That’s not an exaggeration. You have to make sure and position the wax correctly (especially getting those patches of hair immediately over the nostril openings), but if you do so, this thing pulls out a FASCINATING amount of hair. Want to do it a second time? Go for it. I have before. But, then again, apparently the amount of hair in my nose is akin to what I’d have if I had snorted an entire Gene Shalit.Plus – not to be gross, but I want to add that looking at the hairs once they’re pulled out is one of the most oddly satisfying feelings out there. If you’re doing this and you feel like you didn’t pull out nearly enough hair, look at them closely with a DARK background. My nose hairs are about 20-25% dark and 75-80% light.Once you rip them out, use one of those post-waxing balm wipes. But make sure to only use them around the external skin around your nostril, because if you shove them up your nose, who knows what could happen? Well, I’m a Thrillseeker™ and I HAVE shoved them up my nose to see what would happen. I lived to tell the tale. Seriously… is there anyone who’s going to use these “balm wipes” and NOT try shoving them up where their hair forest used to reside? I think that Kenashii very likely put “external use only” on those wipes for strictly legal reasons. So, you might be thinking, “But… what about other brands? Don’t they all do the same thing?” NO. Once, in a pinch when Kenashii was sold out (and I’d misplaced my kit!), I tried another brand whose name rhymed with “Choke-Ear.” The sticks were not as effectively-shaped (yep, it made a difference), and even the way that I had to melt the wax in the microwave was different. That stuff didn’t do nearly as good of a job as the Kenashii. So, I bought the Kenashii again once it was back in stock. I’m on my third Kenashii kit, and I hope the company stays around forever so that I can keep buying and using these things until I’m eventually horizontal in a box.I also want to mention a couple more items: The instructions and the cloth bag. If you want a chuckle, READ those instructions!! The people behind Kenashii put a lot of effort into making their manual one of the most humorous manuals you’ll ever read. It’s great to find a company who can see the humor in their product, while actually making a REALLY great product. And that bag… well… um… I don’t use it for the Kenashii stuff. I’ve now got three cloth bags. They’re good for whatever you’d want to use cloth bags for. Marbles? Sure. A big bunch of Werther’s Originals?I presume. Smallish adult toys? Yes, indeedy! Pogs? Go for it… I won’t judge.NO, Kenashii didn’t send me a freebie for review. They didn’t have to. I bought the product, I loved the product, and after buying and loving it two more times, I wanted to share my praise with the world for a product whose sole focus is to rip the hair out of my nasal cavities.Oh… what’s that? I can use it on my ears, too? I plan on doing so SOON. If the experience is half as joyful and successful as when I use Kenashii on my nose, then I’ll still be thrilled. So… if you’re facing the fact that you’ve got a lot of gross hair hanging out in the front lobby of your sinuses, get the Kenashii. Use as directed. Except, of course, for those balm wipes. (Disclaimer: I accept zero responsibility if anything bad happens if you misuse the balm wipes.)

Title: Excellent product, here are some tips
Review: This product works very well for me but since it has taken me some trial and error to use it effectively I thought I would share some tips to help others:1. Melting. The first time I just put it in the microwave as instructed. My microwave started making straining noises like it does when you turn it on with nothing in the oven, likely because the volume of wax to melt is not sufficient to absorb the microwave energy. I didn’t want to break my microwave, so I used the alternate directions which say you can put the container in water to melt the wax. I put the container in a pyrex glass measuring cup with enough water to go up near to the top of the wax container. With this method and my microwave it takes about 15 minutes to melt the wax. It will melt from the outside in, meaning that the edges will be melted but there will still be a ball of unmelted wax in the middle. Keep going until it is all melted. (I thought I could use only the melted part from the edges but it didn’t work well).2. During that 15 minutes, set up your application station. I lay out the applicator sticks and program the timer on my phone for 3 minutes. I use 8 sticks per session.3. When the wax is melted, stir it a bit with the handle of an applicator stick. The instructions are correct, it should be like honey — meaning it will slowly drain off the stick when lifted out.4. Take the wax to your work station in the hot-water filled pyrex measuring cup. It helps keep the wax from solidifying to quickly.5. Working quickly, put wax on the sticks as instructed. I use a larger glob than they say because I have rather large nostrils and ears. Also, look at where your hair is thickest and aim the stick into that area. For me it is in the lower rear corner of my nostrils and the bottom corner of my ear opening. I insert the stick and then rotate it maybe a quarter turn in hopes of catching the most hairs.6. Put the sticks into each nostril, and both ears, and look at your timer. I find a two minute wait from AFTER all four sticks are inserted is good.7. Look at yourself in the mirror. You will look very silly with four white sticks coming out of your head.8. At about two minutes, remove each stick starting with the one you put in first. Definitely pinch and hold your nose in the middle above the sticks before sharply yanking it out. I have a lot of nose hair so there is a lot of resistance. You really need to pull hard. It is slightly painful but nothing you can’t deal with. Definitely better than tweezing them out.9. Press in on the skin in front of your ear, then yank those out too. I find the ears seem to take longer to “set” so you can wait a bit longer to do these.10. Put the waxy/hairy end of the sticks in the hot water in the measuring cup.11. You may not need to do this, but I usually need to do the whole thing a second time to get all the hair out nicely. It’s not so much the fault of the product, as the fact that I have a lot of hair to remove. So repeat the instructions above if necessary.12. I also use the handle of one of the sticks to “paint” a rather thick layer of the wax on the outside of my nose and in between my eyebrows. Peel off when solidified. It does a really good job of removing the “unibrow” and also removes small hairs and blackhead stuff from my nose (yes, gross, but it’s worse to leave it there).13. After removing the sticks, use your thumbnail to “peel” the wax from the applicator stick. It is not difficult if the was is still somewhat pliable, neither too warm or cold. Take the other sticks out of the hot water and do the same. Yes, you can throw out the sticks without cleaning them but since I use 8 of them per session I would quickly run out of sticks while having a lot of wax remaining. I have seen videos where they use nasal swabs instead of the sticks. That would probably work too, but you would have to be careful not to insert them too far.So that’s my routine. I like that I can go about a month between sessions without dealing with any type of nose or ear hair removal, as opposed to trimming every few days. Including the melt time, this seems to take about half an hour and the results are far superior to trimming or tweezing.

Title: Fast, painless, and effective!
Review: I was a little hesitant to try this product, but after reading reviews I thought I would give it a shot! Who doesn’t want clear nostrils? 🙂 This kit is SO easy to use, and I swear it’s completely painless. I appreciate the sense of humor injected into the kit instructions. Will continue to use! No photo — I figured no one would want to see me with these sticks up my nose, LOL!

Title: Tiger blood baby. Grip that stick like a purse at Union Square SFO
Review: Holy smokes! Followed directions carefully and had no trouble heating the wax to the right consistency (thick honey). I also did the old football power move/psych-up. Gripped that stick firmly, gave it a yank, and the stick came right out from my fingers, snapping back in a WTFWT moment. Grabbed that stick hard like my life depended on it and it worked. Not so much pain as astonishing tingle like a hard slap to the nostril. On the other side, I was prepared. I grabbed that stick hard and wham! It slipped through again which didn’t feel so great. So I used 2 hands and ripped that sucker out. Whew! No embarrassing tears our crying, but the soothing balm was nice to have for the second side. Weird but rewarding to see my nostrils bare and soft. Four stars because the stick needs a ring hole in it so it doesn’t slip out.

Title: Watch Their Instruction Video!
Review: Holy hell Batman! I can breathe again! WOW Follow the instructions and watch their video, you’ll have no problems. I didn’t think I’d like this, as I keep my nose hair trimmed… well at least I thought I did. I was surprised by what came out.

Title: Great hair removal, no sensitivity, unbelievably grateful for nostrils
Review: This weekend incredibly well and was the same if not better than what I used to get in Manhattan. No reaction to the wax, clean and easy hair removal, with enough wax to last at least 1 year for just the nose. It looks like a Christmas tree or hair after removal of the wax stick.
