Title: Easy to Setup – Good Sound – Retractable USB-C Cord – Super Fast Charges my Android Phone
Review: My 2011 Miata has an AUX port input to the radio (no Bluetooth capability) but using the AUX input requires 2 cords, one for charging the phone and the other for the audio input, so I ordered this MQOUNY Bluetooth Receiver / FM transmitter to eliminate a cord as well as providing a retractable cord for charging / powering my phone. I also like that I can power additional devices with USB-C and USB-A outputs.Setup of the Bluetooth receiver was easy; I tuned my radio to a blank FM channel, plugged the device into the cigarette lighter, Long-pressed the >> or << button on the device to display the frequency, then short-pressed the |<< or >>| to move Up or Down in frequency to match the blank channel I chose previously on the radio, then waited for the frequency to flash three times indicating it was locked-in. Then on my Android phone, I long-pressed the Bluetooth button and chose BC97 to pair (Note, I’ve got lots of Bluetooth devices that my phone can pair or transmit to, so I had to scroll down the list to find BC97). Once paired, I could transmit music from my phone via Bluetooth to the device, and the device retransmits the signal to the FM frequency I chose. I can adjust the volume either with my car’s radio, or from the phone’s media output volume.The |<< OR >>| buttons on the device then function to move back or forward through my playlist, which I like because it’s easier to press these buttons than it is to turn on my phone’s screen and find the correct place to tell my media-player to go forward or backward.With regards to playing music, I could not tell the difference between the quality of the sound of this unit and transmitting through the AUX cord, either in the garage or out on the highway, where there’s more interference.I also like that I can tap the center button and accept an incoming call. In testing, an incoming call was clear, and they could hear me easily on the other end.
