Title: A fun game, even for senior gamers!
Review: I am a very experienced 75 year old board gamer. My go to game is “Advanced Squad Leader”, but I felt my friends and I needed a change of pace.I found “Raiders of the North Sea” on a YouTube video and it looked like fun. It was! We were up and running for our first game and finished in about 75 minutes, with minimal rereading of the rules. A second game was in order. This was our first experience with “worker” games, and it won’t be our last.

Title: Great introduction to Worker Placement games
Review: Quick and easy to learn game that uses a popular mechanic in modern board games, worker placement. The basic concept is that each player has workers that on their turn they will place on the board in available locations that then either let the player perform some sort of action or gain some sort of reward. Raiders does this in a very simple and slightly different way than most other games. Each player only has ONE worker. On your turn you will choose to either Work by placing your worker on a valid, available space and performing the action or collecting the appropriate resources and then selecting a different worker on the board and performing the actions or collections for that space or Raid, if you have the proper resources, by placing your worker on one of the available raid spots on the board and carrying out the raid action there and gaining the associated worker, victory points and plunder. The easy thing to remember is that you will always start and end your turn with one worker. There are a few more nuances to the game than that, but this is a really quick game to learn and teach and loads of fun with lots of take that moments in attempts to foil your opponents.

Title: Enjoyed Crew Customization
Review: I recently purchased this game because I liked the theme and worker placement mechanic. After having played it through once, I was not disappointed. One of the things I liked most about the game is how you can customize your viking crew. This added a fun element as certain crew members provided advantages depending on your strategy. There are many crew options. It also made raiding challenging because you have to consider which crew members you are willing to lose to further your goals. The worker placement element was fun because of the dual action turns: place a worker-take an action and pick up an existing worker-take an action. The components are great: The real metal coins were a great bonus!

Title: Pretty good game, measurements in picture
Review: Recommend this for all ages… moderate strategy (but not necessarily needed to be a competitive force) resource management, worker placement (with a unique/enjoyable worker removal actions aswell) … a bit of luck when hiring your crew and a roll of the dice … enough strategy to keep me interested in playing it again.., I included a pic of part of our collection

Title: Awesome game. Must have.
Review: This game is a lot of fun, easily learned and taught, and consists of very high quality components. It is the second game in a three game series. You do not need the other games as they are all standalone. However, with the addition of a small expansion you can link all of them together. The theme is fun and this worker placement game easily holds your interest. I have this game and Explorers of the North Sea (the third game, also excellent game, but different mechanics) and will be adding Shiprights soon. The night before it arrived I watched two YouTube videos on how to play while I perused a downloaded copy of the rules. When the game arrived the next day we broke it out and started playing. It’s that quick to learn. The only think I would like to see from Garphill Games for this series is a 5, or 5-6 player expansion.

Title: Worker Placement goodness
Review: Great worker placement game. I would still say that Lords of Waterdeep is still the king of the genre, but this is definitely up there in the top 5 best worker placement games.

Title: Fantastic Game
Review: One of the best games we own. Enjoyed by all who have played it. I prefer the “cheaper” components in this set as you can play a game where the rewards for raiding are a surprise by setting up the loot tokens upside down.

Title: Simple yet fun
Review: I really enjoyed this game, didn’t feel too long and everyone learned the rules quickly. Glad they have this version to opt out of the metal coins as I was more interested in adding a fun new game to the collection than spending on fancy pieces. I especially enjoyed the progression through the game as you pick up and leave the meeples during raids, it added a dynamic I haven’t seen in a game before and wasn’t expecting to enjoy so much.

Review: Shem philip has been designing some wonderful games and this one is probably his masterpiece. The place one worker-take that action-pick up one worker- take that action works horribly good. The theme is quite strong. Being a Viking game you first have to prepare for your raids and recruit people into your raiding party. Then go out and rade the lands on the other side of the water, bring back bounty and pay offerings to your chieftain to gain VPs. This is easily my favourite game and it comes out on the table the most. I do tend to like Paladins of the West Kingdom (by the same designer) more but its a fairly heavier game than this one and is not usualy the people’s choice on game nights. I would also like to mention that the quality of the components is amazing and the art work is really crisp. It is all wodden tokens with only 2 sheets of punch outs and to my surprise you get METAL COINS in the retail version as well.i repeat METAL COINS in the retail version. Being a viking themed game people do complain about no PvP conflict but then again every player is part of a viking tribe so there really is no need for a personal conflict atleast as far as the theme is concerned. If possible, buy boardgames from Boardgamesindis.com, Boardway India or My Games. These people deal in 100% authentic games only. There are a few sellers out there selling counterfeit games.

Review: I wanted a game similar to Lords of Waterdeep, but loved the viking theme. Rule book was a tad confusing, but watched a youtube video and was playing the game 5 minutes later. Two player game worked well.
