Title: Amazing addition to my Canon
Review: When I bought my Canon EOS-R50, I was ignorant about the cropped sensor details. I was thinking along the terms of my old 35mm cameras I used to have 30 or 40 years ago. So I assumed the 18-45 mm lens would be a really nice wide angle. But with the cropping, it’s not. I couldn’t even get a photo of my basement wall and the work I was doing downstairs in frame. I had to use my iPhone to zoom back out far enough to get a decent shot. This meant that my 18mm lens was the focal equivalent to about a 29mm lens on my old film 35mm camera. But this one, at 10mm, is like a 16mm lens would’ve been on my old 35mm film camera. And the difference between the kit lens that came with the camera and this one is amazing. Not only can I get the wider shots now that I want, but it’s just a better lens overall. The results of this at 18mm and the kit lens shooting at 18mm is clear to the naked eye.Definitely worth the cost for my use.

Title: very handy for indoor family shots and outdoor landscapes.
Review: Using it on a Canon R10.The wide angle 10mm is very useful for landscapes and interior shots. Really good for shooting inside churches if you are steady handed and can keep it still for 1/2 sec. That is the only shortcoming to this lens… it’s a little bit slow but then it’s also small so that’s something I knew going in. Indeed this seems to be a common issue with all the lenses that run in the R10 mirrorless and the like. But the bigger lenses are more expensive and… well… simply much bigger and heavier. When I decided to dump the DSLR for the R10 I understood the compromise.Overall a great little lens. Camera with this lens, an 18-45 and an 18-150, batteries, charger and passport all fit nicely in a small shoulder bag.Recommended.

Title: Great lens
Review: Update: I returned the lens. I like this lens a lot. I was expecting a lot of distortion, but found very little. Too bad I can’t say the same for the heavy vignette on every corner. It’s sad, because a 10mm on a Crop sensor becomes a 16mm. With the vignette you end up with about an 18mm. Yes, you can cleanup the vignette with editing, but that throws off your editing workflow and adds a step to your processing. The worse thing in my opinion is making it a lock lens. Meaning you have to unlock the lens before you can even use it or the menu system. I find this extremely annoying and unnecessary. One more step to deal with and another purposely added “feature” to make you prefer the more expensive pro lenses. Over-all the lens MIGHT be a keeper for me. It’s sharp, fast focusing, and lightweight. I’ll decide after taking it for a test drive.

Title: A must for wide angle shots
Review: Super compact and light, slightly smaller than RF18-45 so I carry both in my bag. I use this kayaking and capturing sunrises and landscape shots on my daily morning paddles so the pics are from about 30-60 mins before sunrise up to sunrise for reference. Very pleased thus far in the outdoor applications it’s been used. It’s a good value for having the wide angle range needed to really capture landscapes and waterscapes in entirety.

Title: Useful and Enjoyable Lens
Review: Very surprised. I took this lens with me to a trade show in Detroit and got some very nice shots. I haven’t had time to run the RAWs through Lightroom but just looking at the jpgs and some minor corrections, they look pretty good. I love the flexibility of shooting at 10mm, and yes, there is some lens aberration but my R-10 does a nice job correcting this in RAW and honestly, you’re shooting at 10mm and you have to expect some warping. Overall, I am happy with this lens and will find lots of uses for it.

Review: After having my fair share of doubt I have come to the conclusion that the lens I received is a genuine and brand new one with the exception of one point which I am going to elaborate later on. The points I would like to hilghlight are as follows1. Canon standalone lens boxes do not have separate seals. It was a point of contention for me as well, but later on I got it clarified from authorised retailers. (Body with kit lens do have seals)2. My seller was Kamal Imaging3. To know (for sure) whether you lens is a genuine one or not, please check the serial no at all 3 places namely on the box, on the warranty card and on the lens itself.4. Curiously, in my case, the lens is manufactured in Malaysia but the lens dust cap is made in Taiwan. This had led me to believe that the lens I had received was a duplicate one but afterwards I came to the conclusion that there might have been a mismatch at the seller’s end.Coming to the photography part, this lens has good coverage as compared to the 18-45 kit one (obviously). It works fine and supports the different functions as other genuine (kit) lens. I am not a pro, but this is what I have understood from my experience.

Review: The box was not sealed , even the cover in which the lens was packed was not even taped. The lens was clearly used and the back cap does not fit easily, have to struggle.Never buy from online.
