Title: Surprisingly Balanced
Review: Unboxing and AccessoriesThe Kiwi Ears Aventus arrives in a sleek, rectangular black box. Inside, you’ll find a large zippered storage case containing the headphones themselves, a detachable 3.5mm to 3.5mm coiled audio cable, a USB-C to 3.5mm audio cable featuring an integrated DAC/AMP, and a USB-A to USB-C charging cable. I wish Kiwi Ears had opted to provide a USB-C to USB-C cable instead. The package also includes a user manual and foam tuning inserts for the ear pads.Charging and Battery LifeThe Aventus is advertised as having fast charging, although Kiwi Ears does not specify which charging protocol it uses or what the maximum charging speed is. I have been charging it with a 45-watt USB power delivery charger from Anker, and it charges very quickly. I have not been rigorously tracking the battery life, but I used the Aventus for several hours every day for about a week before needing to charge it. Based on my usage, I estimate the battery life to be around 24–30 hours rather than the quoted 48.Issues with the USB-C to 3.5mm CableWhile using the USB-C to 3.5mm cable with the Aventus, I consistently heard a strange buzzing noise during music playback when a track would end and another would begin, or when pausing or unpausing a track. As a result, I don’t recommend using this cable with the Aventus.Build Quality and DesignThe Aventus feels sturdy and durable, constructed primarily from high-quality plastic and PU materials. The ear cups are foldable and rotatable. Unfortunately, there is a slight squeaking sound when rotating the ear cups. The headband is padded and adjustable. Additionally, the Aventus features both static and flashing RGB lighting, which is an interesting gimmick. Users can turn the RGB on or off as desired.Comfort and FitI found the Aventus to be moderately comfortable for prolonged use. The clamping force is quite reasonable, and the ear pads are soft and conform well to my ears. The Aventus also has very decent passive noise isolation, even without ANC activated. However, it is rather heavy on the head and does not utilize a headband suspension system.Sound QualityThe sound impressions below were made while using both sets of foam tuning inserts, which I feel even out the upper treble response on the Aventus. The Aventus has a Harman-style tuning that is appropriate for a wide variety of music genres. The bass is well-extended, thick, and impactful without being too boomy, uncontrolled, or congested. The midrange is definitely on the warmer side but does not sacrifice midrange clarity. Male vocals have body and grit when appropriate, and female vocals sound vibrant and clear. Percussion is punchy, and distorted electric guitars sound meaty and aggressive. There is an appropriate amount of presence. The treble is very much on the safe side but still has a decent amount of intrinsic resolution. However, there is not much upper treble air, and soundstage and imaging are average for a closed-back headset. The Moondrop Edge might have slightly better staging.Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) and ConnectivityThe Aventus effectively reduces ambient noise and seems slightly better than the Moondrop Edge in terms of ANC performance, making it suitable for noisy environments. I have had zero issues maintaining Bluetooth connectivity, even across multiple floors of my house. In addition, the ability to connect two devices simultaneously, such as a phone and a PC, is a useful feature.

Title: Great Quality!… Just Not for Wireless Gaming
Review: This definitely isn’t the first time I’ve written this in a headphone review, but I have a difficult relationship with Bluetooth audio. It’s definitely improved over the years, but the hassles of wonky connections, skipping audio, and battery life have left me stubbornly holding onto wired headphones. And though these are superb headphones on their own, my issues with Bluetooth definitely reared their heads. But first, the good. The headphones themselves feel high quality, with thick padding and solid construction. I often find full headphones extremely uncomfortable to wear for long periods of time, but I was able to keep these on for upwards of three hours without soreness. Though they’re classified as “over ear” headphones, they don’t quite surround my ears, but the padding is thick enough that my ears still feel fully enclosed with the sound. They also come with a nice solid zippable case and some elastic cables. The sound quality felt excellent to my non-musician ears, clear with solid bass. The big stand out feature for me, however, was the active noise canceling and transparency modes. These were downright incredible! I’ve used ANC before, but never quite this effective. When noise canceling is on, even without any sound playing, ambient noise is greatly reduced, and when audio is playing, the rest of the world’s audio simply goes blank. Conversely, with transparency on, I was able to hear everything around me like I wasn’t wearing anything. Definitely the best thing about these headphones for me.I was also impressed by the microphone, which is completely built into the headphones themselves with no “arm” sticking out, yet still seemed to pick up my voice perfectly fine in phone calls. But then there’s that Bluetooth stuff. To their credit, the connection on these was fairly flawless by Bluetooth standards. There was no audio skipping, no issues with device discoverability, or unplanned disconnections. The issue, however, was latency. This is apparently quite a common issue, as I’ve had it several times with gaming headphones, but there is a fraction of a second delay when using these headphones wirelessly. When viewing video, most computers and phones account for this delay, so if you’re using these to watch a movie or a video on your phone, it’s perfectly in sync. However, if you are using them to play a game, it’s very easy to notice a gap between the action on screen and when it reaches your ears. And unfortunately, these are marketed as “extremely low latency wireless headphones for DJs and gamers”, which really got my hopes up that these would solve that problem. To make sure I was giving these their best chance, I purchased a Bluetooth 5.4 USB dongle (the headphones don’t come with one), but the result was the same. Diving deeper, I started learning more about audio codecs, which are apparently the real culprit. These use SBC and AAC codecs, which are apparently known for combability.. and latency issues. There are codecs out there made more specifically for low-latency (such as aptX), but they are not present here. For reference, I do have one pair of wireless headphones that, miraculously, don’t have any latency, but they use a bespoke 2.4 USB connector. If I use the same headphones with regular Bluetooth (such as syncing with a phone), they have the same problem.Of note, this problem does go away if you use the included standard headphone wire (though this did add a bit of static to the audio). When looking around the internet for solutions to similar problems, most people do end up with the advice “just use wired headphones”, and once again to their credit, the fact that these do have the option to function wired is a huge plus. There were a couple other minor issues of note. The headphones are collapsible and fit into a surprisingly small case, but they bend in a bit of an unintuitive way that always feels like I’m going to break them when I’m folding or unfolding them. And, while they do feel high quality in a lot of ways, there are some oddities, such as the voice that speaks when you press buttons being hard to understand (the voice saying “power on” and “power off” are almost indistinguishable from each other), and the world’s tiniest and hard to read user manual. So ultimately, I waffled a lot on how to rate these. If they weren’t marketed as specifically being able to perform low latency wireless gaming, I think they’d be an easy 5 stars. The sound quality is fantastic and that noise canceling is the sort of thing that could be a lifesaver on a night of noisy neighbors. They feel priced fairly for mid-range headphones, and I’d be fairly confident in recommending them over others at this price point. But in the end, I spent so long trying to make them work for their intended purpose, without success, and that takes them down a notch for me. I will still likely use them as wired headphones, but my search for the perfect wireless pair continues.

Title: They sound great!
Review: For the price, these rock. It appears to be a true 2-way design with a central tweeter driver that pokes out. I honestly was not expecting much but what I ended up with was a great, normal sounding headphone, that’s comfortable and convenient. The sound quality on bluetooth is remarkably good all things considered. They’re detailed enough for me to hear the difference in audio compression between nintendo switch games. Bass is linear and has decent slam, mids are neutral and the highs are articulate and non fatiguing. Only gripe is the proprietary locking cord you can see in my photo. Fortunately the Vmoda cable fits right in. Also has braille indicators for left and right which is neat. In all, these are a fun set of headphones with a cool gimmick that being the RGB lighting. They surpass the quality of most gaming headsets by a significant margin. If only the pads came off more easily. I feel like they’ll rip so I’ll wait until they wear out to yank them off.

Title: Great gaming headphones
Review: I have used a bunch of wireless gaming headphones and these are some of the best ones I have used. The bass is nice and strong, vocals are great and footsteps are very precise. The anc and battery life is also really good and lasts a while and the RGB looks nice.

Title: Great sound and comfort with fancy lights.
Review: These headphones have made me a huge fan of kiwi ears. They provide the ultimate value for money. Supremely comfortable. Great balanced sound with a decent amount of bass. Tuned for mids/treble clarity. Comes with a tuning foam to change the sound signature. 2 cables come with these. Aux and USB C Charging cable. It has multiple light modes and a dedicated light and ANC button. The sound quality and comfort alone make these worth it. But the added features make it an easy recommendation.

Review: The comfort level of these black, “Kiwi Ears Aventus” cans from the LINSOUL store are quite awesome, they have a very nice “over the ears” headset design which is extremely form fitting on the head and feels great.Designed I assume for DJ’s promoting music, or gamers playing for long periods of time, the ear pads seem to be a quality memory foam, and also covered in a very soft, likewise black coloured, leather-like fabric, and are completely comfortable. The entire design of this particular AVENTUS set from LINSOUL is a black colour scheme, though there are LED lights on each outer plate of the ear pads. I am not sure if the brand offers other colour varieties in this particular design, but they do offer a huge selection of audiophile tools. Anyway, the black is perfectly fine for my needs. There is both fantastic 40mm audio drivers, and up-to-date Bluetooth 5.4 with very decent 16 Ohm impedance, as well as noise cancelling reduction capability in these headphones up to 35dB — in fact, I can barely hear anything else outside when I wear these. The ear pieces feature deeper bass and hi-fidelity sound, and I do love what I hear coming out of these cans, even when playing high-dub, bassy sounding music. They also come with a 3.5mm wire and usb-to-usb-c cord for charging, but on their battery alone, advertise a whopping 82 hour playtime (without noise cancelling or RGB active) before requiring a recharge of the equally sizable 1000mAh battery, which is impressive for a set of headphones. I have not tested them for that long, but I did listen to my playlists for an entire 8-hour work day, with all features activated, and never had a latency issue, or battery fail during that time, which is more than enough to suit my needs.I am no expert in particular, but I am very happy overall and absolutely love these headphones… they are comfortable and fun and sound great with an even balance of bass and treble. They even come with a really grey hard carrying case in grey colour. Overall, a fantastic choice for audiophiles. 5 stars.

Zubehör: Hartschale dabei, Kabel für Kabelbetrieb – alles da, was man braucht.

Review: My main BT headphones are my trusty WH-1000XM4, which tend to sell for about £150 now. I’ve used them for years, and I’m very familiar with the sound profile, so this review will compare these headphones against them, even though the Kiwi Ears Aventus are nearly half the price.ANC: Surprisingly decent. I had zero-hope for anything on par with the WH-1000XM4 (which to date remains the best ANC I’ve used) but it comes pretty close at times. I like to test by using two noise machines on each side of the room, at loud volume. This gives a good stress test of the ANC, and I’m happy to say it handled them well. It’s not that thick fog of silence which the Sony ANC gives you, but it does get about 80% of the way there. For most casual use, including busy commutes, these would more than do the job for most people. In terms of sound, again, I was pleasantly surprised. It has a good balanced sound profile, which has plenty of bass, but not too boomy. Highs are perhaps more pronounced, and brighter than I’d like, but you can EQ to taste in whatever media player/app you use, so it’s not a huge concern. Soundstage is good, though not as wide as the WH-1000XM4 (no surprise, very few closed back headphones can compete with these). Overall, pleasant to listen to.Comfort wise, they were decent. The earpads covered my entire ears, and after an hour’s use, only caused minor sweat buildup. Adjusting the headband was easy.In terms of controls, it uses actual buttons for vol control, and a single button to handle skipping tracks etc.. This is a good thing IMO, as I hate touch controls, as they’re never as precise as I want them to be. With buttons, you can’t go wrong, and skipping tunes is simple. Very good.Aesthetically, they look great on my head, but I did turn off the gimmicky RGB function, which isn’t my thing at all (and probably runs the battery down much quicker too).It comes with a very nice hard shell for storage, and a few cables inside.Overall, a very decent pair of budget-friendly headphones, which punch well above their weight.
