Title: Wow – This Works Great
Review: I installed an after-market Android Auto stereo in my Freightliner-chassis diesel motorhome, and as you might expect, mixing residential tech with heavy-duty diesel setups can be a bit tricky. My dash slot is a single-DIN, so finding a stereo with a good mapping screen was a challenge. I couldn’t block important controls and switches, so after watching a popular RV YouTuber install this “SSL” stereo in his 45-foot Beaver coach, I decided to try it out.Unfortunately, my experience with the SSL stereo hasn’t been as smooth as his. I’ve encountered periodic crashes and disconnects, due to the finicky cabling—both between the dash socket and the stereo, and from the phone to the USB port. I think the Youtuber is using the Carplay service on the same deck. For Android Auto, I have accumulated a clutch of cheap $20+ “high end” Android Auto patch cables that each advertised as “most reliable” – and I still suspect the crash issues were being caused by AA’s pickiness about the wiring. I figured going wireless would solve the issue in the long run.The result? It worked like a charm! Even with my budget-friendly SSL stereo, which I only use 5-10 times a year, the new setup runs smoothly. Mapping is fluid with minimal lag.The only hiccup I’ve noticed is when I’m parked outside my house. I have to manually disconnect my Samsung phone from the house Wi-Fi before it connects to the stereo’s Bluetooth, or it won’t automatically switch to the Android Auto Wi-Fi SSID that the stereo broadcasts. If the phone isn’t connected to any Wi-Fi, it switches to Android Auto as expected. But if I’m connected to the house Wi-Fi, it endlessly searches for the Android Auto screen. This feels like a design or software flaw, as it’s inconvenient to manually disconnect Wi-Fi each time. For RV travel, it’s manageable, but it could be a hassle if I had to do this several times a day, like when leaving my garage in a daily driver. Just something to keep in mind for others considering this setup.

Title: Works great
Review: Great replacement for my previously Motorola wireless car play adapter. I was previously this which was so many connectivity issues. This was so much cheaper and works right out of the box. It’s also smaller so I am able to hide in my glove box so cannot be seen. Following the included instructions I had no issues getting it connected and tinny car. Easy to install as it just uses it a USB slot.I would encourage anyone to double check if they have a always powered on USB port so it doesn’t drain their car battery but I doubt this drains much

Title: Doesn’t work on all models
Review: I bought two of these for our Nissan Muranos. It works great in the 2024 and has proven to be very stable and connects extremely quickly with our iPhones. That being said, it does not work on our 2017 Murano. I viewed videos, tried everything that was suggested, and it simply would not connect. I wrote Codonova twice, but never heard back from them.Great add on if your car doesn’t have wireless connection.
