Title: COTTON socks!
Review: It’s harder than you think to find socks with actual COTTON that aren’t the premium brands $$. My two boys now wear adult size shoes & socks. Polyester/rayon socks have always grossed me out.. they seem to get stinker faster and don’t absorb moisture as well, in my opinion. It seems that is almost all they offer nowadays for the socks you find in the store, and most of what I’ve seen online in a decent price range. I have to comb through item after item of the bulk packs of basic socks just to find some with any cotton at all. These actually were labeled as 90% cotton which is surprising.I purchased the black ankle socks – “cushion ankle double tough durability” (not the x-temp as shown in some of the review photos). The fabric details on the package are different than what is listed … my bag says 90% cotton, 19% polyester and 1% spandex. I’m not sure I entirely believe it, but that’s what it says. These socks aren’t thick, super stretchy, or premium feeling but they were on sale and it’s a big bag of socks on for two active boys that should last us awhile.

Title: Hanes is now leaving out the Double in the Double Tough… sadly.
Review: While the socks are good and fit well, look nice, they go on well, the quality is not as good as they once were. Compared to my older version of the same sock they are much thinner. So much so you can see my hand through the material and in the old one you can’t! These were supposed to be padded and double tough! If that was the case, why am I seeing my hand through the material? It’s like you left out the double in the tough…So, now Hanes charges more money and uses half the material while claiming the socks are still the same socks. Even putting them on a scale, the old worn sock was heavier. I won’t embarrass Hanes more than this review by posting the pictures because then someone would take the pictures to cause legal issues. That’s not what this is about. They still make a good, solid product! They simply need to tweak its production standard.

Review: Hanes Socken kenne ich seit mehr als 30 Jahren.Während meiner vielen Urlaube in den USA (insgesamt 45 mal) habe ich die Hanes-Socken kennengelernt. So oft wie nötig habe ich mir diese Socken dann aus Amerika mitgebracht.Daher kenne ich die Qualität der Hanes-Socken zur Genüge. Ich war deshalb froh, sie jetzt über Amazon bestellen zu können.Leider werden diese typisch amerikanischen Alltagssocken nirgendwo in Europa angeboten (ich habe sie zumindest nicht gefunden). Ich konnte aber die Hanes-Socken direkt in den USA bestellen, Amazon sei Dank!Von der Quailtät der Socken konnte ich mich über viele Jahre überzeugen.Es sind Socken für den täglichen Gebrauch, robust und strapazierfähig. Natürlich sind die Socken dann doch irgendwann durch Verschleiß nicht mehr ansehnlich und tragbar und müssen entsorgt werden.Vor Weihnachten habe ich dann diese Socken beim Amazon Global Store US gefunden und gleich bestellt.Ich habe mich für die Ausführung “weiß” entschieden. Dort ist die Unterseite der Socke aus etwas hellerem grauen Frottee.Die Socken werden in verschiedenen Ausführungen angeboten. Ich nehme seit Jahren die Ausführung “Ankle”. Der Schaft geht dann bei mir bis knapp über die Knöchel.Besonders schön bei den Hanes-Socken finde ich die hochgezogene Zehenregion. Die grau Unterseite wird also bis über die Zehen fortgeführt (s. Angebotsbilder). Das sieht beim Tragen super aus!Der Tragekomfort ist durch die Frottee-Unterseite sehr angenehm.Die amerikanische Größe 6 bis 12 passt normalerweise für unsere deutsche Größe 39 bis 43-44.Achtung:Die Größenangabe 10-13 bei diesem Angebot ist irreführend. Diese Größenangabe gibt es bei amerikanischen Socken üblicherweise nicht. Es wird die amerikanische Größe 6-12 geliefert!Die amerikanischen Socken gibt es in der Regel in Verkaufspackungen mit Größe 6-12 oder Größe 12-14.Laut Aufdruck auf der Verpackung bestehen die Socken zu 50% aus Baumwolle, 48% Polyester, 1% Nylon und 1% Spandex.Der Baumwollanteil wurde im Laufe der Jahre immer geringer, der Syntetikanteil dementsprechend höher. Dadurch sind die Socken aber meines Erachtens durchaus komfortabler geworden.Leider ist mein Freund und Reisepartner Ende 2019 verstorben. Ich werde also nicht mehr in die USA kommen um dort einzukaufen. Wenigstens kann ich mir das ein oder andere Lieblingsteil zumindest bei Amazon bestellen.Die Lieferung erfolgte übrigens sehr zügig, 10 Tage vor dem angekündigten Termin. Bestellung erfolgte am 1.Dezember, geliefert wurde bereits am 18.12.

Review: Memore dei miei trascorsi in nord america, ho sempre avuto difficoltà ad adattarmi al tipo di calze in stile “italiano” (sono gusti). Unica alternativa è stato acquistare direttamente in US (troppo costoso) o UK (fattibile). Questo prodotto offerto anche sulla piattaforma italiana è una soluzione ottimale.Provengono comunque da UK, ma attraverso la piattaforma .it è possibile la consegna ad un punto di ritiro (normalmente non offerta direttamente su UK.Le calze sono alla caviglia e vanno benone per tutte le scarpe normali (non scarponcini o stivali). Per tutti i giorni sono perfette. Il tessuto usa un filo confortevolmente spesso e morbido (occorrerà vedere la reazione ai lavaggi).Molto buono il rinforzo in colore grigio per dita, pianta e tallone.Unico difetto: nell’annuncio non c’è alcuna menzione della misura e NON sono a misura unica. Il pacco arrivato riporta 12/13 che corrisponde a circa un 46-47 come scarpa. Io porto il 43/44 e quindi alla fine risultano un pochino abbondanti, anche se non di molto (presumo che per un 46/47 vengano calzate un po’ ad “elastico”).
