Title: Money Well Spent
Review: I work from home and on average take 3-5 meetings a day. Being tethered to my computer for these meetings made it difficult at times when I needed to answer the door, make my son an after school snack, etc. I decided it was time to invest in a wireless headset that I could use with my PC and programs like WebEx and Skype. So far so good: I’ve used it for 3 meetings (another is about to happen in an hour) and have had no issues at all. I can hear the other parties perfectly and I’ve had no complaints about my mic or any background noise thus far. I’ve used it both on Skype and on WebEx and it seems to work seamlessly. The mute function is great because I can hear a tone when I click the button. The only issue is that the tone it the same for on and off so I have to remember if I put myself on mute or took myself off which can be frustrating. I’m going to see if I can change my laptop’s notifications to separate the two functions (off/on). UPDATE: There is an option in the Hub that you can toggle “ON” to receive periodic reminders that you’re on mute. You can set it to “Low Volume” or “Standard Volume” and after trying it out, it emits a beeping every now and then to let you know you’re still on mute. This setting is defaulted to “OFF”.I’ve been able to cook, clean, answer the door, and walk around my condo while using the headset and have, so far, never lost connectivity or audio quality.Features: You can connect this headset to a landline phone, a mobile phone, or a computer. My computer’s bluetooth was unable to connect to the device’s bluetooth so I’ve had to use the USB to connect the base to my computer in order to use the wireless function. That’s probably more stable than using bluetooth anyways.I haven’t used it on my landline or my cell phone yet but maybe I’ll give it a try one day.Overall: I give this headset all 5 stars because it works great, feels comfortable, and has had no issues. (Aside from the tone notification between mute on/off but that’s minor).

Title: Great Headset
Review: For the past several years, I have used the Plantronics CS361N, which is the old version of this headset (that does not include computer or cell phone integration). I have been very happy with that headset, and no one has ever complained about the sound quality. For the past year or so, I have had my eye on this newer version because of the cell phone integration. I have poor reception in my office and it is nice to be able to put the phone on the window sill and roam the office. I have been using the Plantronics Voyager Pro HD (Can you tell I’m a Plantronics fan?) for this task and it has worked well. The problem is you get so used to having a binaural headset, it’s hard to go back to taking business calls on anything else. So, to the main review of this headset. The sound quality is just as good as the CS361N and the headset is identical except in color and in the fact that they have intentionally added a little ridge to the charging dock so you can’t use the headset from the previous version. I also like being able to hook it up to the computer and monitor battery level and alter protection modes (volume limits, etc.). Previously, I always felt like I had to return the headset to the cradle to make sure there was enough battery left for the day. With the computer integration, it is no longer guesswork and I am able to feel comfortable leaving the headset in a more convenient place.I was also worried about sound quality with my cell phone. I knew that the voyager pro HD had better Bluetooth sound than any other headset I’ve tried, and was worried this might not be quite as good. After calling several people and leaving myself several voicemails, I was glad to find out this headset sounds even more natural to the other party than the voyager. It is also almost instantaneous in connecting. There are three slight negatives. 1) I thought I could duplicate the settings from my old headset and be good to go. Unfortunately, there apparently isn’t a standard for Plantronics headsets, and it took about 20 minutes to dial in the new headset to my phone system to get the best sound. If you haven’t had a true office headset before, it’s just trial and error to get the best sound. 2) The old headset had a setting where when you pick up the headset from the cradle, it automatically turns itself on. I got used to that being the case and, unfortunately, I haven’t that setting no longer exists. 3) When you’re calling out on your cell phone, you have to make sure your headset is turned on to ‘cell’ (requires pressing a button on the base) to make the call using the headset. You can set it to default to ‘cell phone’, but it’s still a pain if you use your office phone more often. All in all, this is a great headset if you have multiple devices to use. If you don’t, I would consider going with one of the office phone only headsets. If you’ve never used wireless, this is like the first remote control you had on your TV. You won’t ever be happy going back to the wire. I sit a few feet from my phone and it still makes a huge difference in comfort.

Title: Bluetooth failed within 30 days
Review: Somehow I missed that these headphones are refurbished. Honestly, I wouldn’t have even noticed but when they arrived, there was a sticker indicating that the headset had been professionally cleaned. I almost sent them back then, and should have. They initially worked well, but the bluetooth started failing within a couple of weeks. A red light on the base indicates that the bluetooth is not connected and for a few days, I would resolve it by restarting the headset and my machine. However, that quit working as well. Just buy new ones rather than taking your chances that they will quickly fail after purchase.

Review: I bought this headset because a coworker recommended it and he always sounded clear on calls. From the images I was concerned they were an over-ear headset, might not be comfortable, and would block out too much sound around me. They are actually on-ear and quite light. I previously had mono headsets since I like to be able to hear a conversation if someone comes to my desk. I find these are better for hearing when the call quality for others is not as good since the sound is in both ears, and I can hear fine if someone asks me a question at my desk.
