Title: Amalfi: Renaissance, First Impressions
Review: First impressions, Amalfi: Renaissance.Amalfi is, at its core, a worker/ship placement game. You put a ship on the board, you pay the cost of movement in bread (if any), then move other ships to the printed resource. Then you can use those resources to get private destinations, paintings, build ships, or play cards from your hand.There’s a great variety of cards and private destinations so you’ll never have the same game twice, as well as end of round goals and medals to work towards. I do love games that help me focus on a particular area so I don’t feel lost.Solo mode is easy to run once you get the hang of it. After you take your turn, the bot reacts based on what you do, kind of like Concordia: Solitaria. For example, if you take a navigate action, it’ll use ships to block off spaces that would allow you to gain the rightmost painting, thus making it more difficult. It’ll also remove the rightmost card or destination if you also did that as well.In my first game I only scored 58 points, but it was a learning game and I did manage to get to the end (you instantly lose if you don’t acquire a certain number of titles at the end of some rounds).There’s so much to learn as far as strategy is efficiency that I want to play it several times in a row.First impression: Very good!

Title: FRENCH RULEBOOK
Review: Would have been nice to make it very clear the rules are in French!Thankfully I do speak French pretty fluently, and the game itself is excellent, but disappointed in the seller.
