Title: Worth the Money
Review: I got this DVD as part of my CycleOps (fluid) trainer and after comparing it to my Chris Carmichael (Train Right series), I’ve to say this is much more superior! Quite honestly I regret that I got the CTS videos; they’re lacking in multiple ways.The Vision Quest Trainer guy is informative, talking with you while he’s on the bike doing it (suffering) with you with his teammates as they get ready for a real crit race. All the while he’s also explaining what you’re suppose to do (e.g. shifting up/down to create your intensity). Of course, each cyclist’s ability is different across the board, but I think it’s importantly that he walks through it to create familiarity without creating further confusion.He’s got heart pumping music with beats (not Brittany Spears or top 40) so it’s easy to match your cadence to the rhythm. And I like the fact the vid is filmed outdoors at races so they are visually stimulating for indoor training. Some companies choose to film in a confined room of institutional white walls; personally I find it very boring and unmotivating.Some of the bigger training camps would have statements like their videos make you a better athlete via their training video. However, if they can’t keep you engaged or enthused on an otherwise boring indoor training session, then they’ve not done their customer right.

Review: Really enjoyed working out with this DVD. Makes the time pass faster. Music not great but you can turn the sound down and put your own soundtrack on. The commentary is a nice feature that’s not on some other DVD’s. As its a race you really feel like you’re getting somewhere as you pedal which helps to keep the tempo high. A great workout accompaniment that helps motivation.
