Title: Great little amp.
Review: This is a great little amp. The Bluetooth works great and it has impressive power for the price. I received it yesterday and had it setup in 5 min. ran speakers for 6 hours straight at 75% volume and the amp never got hot. Sound quality was great and the bass and treble adjustment were a nice touch.

Title: Great little amp
Review: Based on the latest Motorola chip this amp is amazing sound wise. The Bluetooth capability is a bonus. My daughter teams the amp up with a pair of Polk bookshelf speakers. The only annoying thing is the power block is the same size as the amp.

Title: System alerts are loud
Review: Works great, only complaint is that every time it turns on or changes input it loudly says what its doing. Cant disable this or adjust volume. ‘BLUETOOTH MODE, CONNECTED’ ‘LINE IN’ tried muting when switching input, nope. Tried turning all knobs low as they would go. Nope. Great device wish i had volume control on the system alerts

Title: High distortion on optical INPUT
Review: The whole concept sounded perfect for my intended use but unfortunately there were some problems that made it completely unsatisfactory.1) The BT connected, and worked very well and sounded okay with my smart phone but when I switched the amp to the optical output from my high end CD player, the sound was very very distorted just like it is when a CD is played through a video disk player.2) The volume control works very strangely; when set to low levels it seems normal but there is a point at which the volume output jumps noticeably and the sound becomes distorted. I say “distorted” even though it is not of the typical clipping, harmonic or intermodulation type. Instead artifacts associated with digitizing become apparent and very objectionable.3) The LED lighting surrounding the volume knob can be very useful when setting the controls but also visually very annoying when not turned off once the controls are set.The amplifier appears well thought out and well made with quality components and if it weren’t for the distortion when using the optical input, it would be a very good amplifier.

Title: nice little compact amp with BT for passive speakers
Review: Nice little amp, ideal for anyone with an older set of passive speakers sitting around that you want to add Bluetooth capability to, and to do it without needing space for a traditional stereo receiver. I’m using it with an older set of midsize B&W 3-way speakers that would have gone to Goodwill, but with this handy amp I can put them to good use in the garage or basement gym area. The amp is so tiny, the power brick requires as much space as the amp! Even together, the space they need is much less than a traditional receiver which is nice (I did have an old receiver in the house, but no BT capability and it was about 10x the physical volume of this amp+brick!). Obviously the sound quality isn’t going to compare to even a mid-level full-blown receiver or amp, but it is remarkably good for the size and price point, and the convenience factor can’t be overlooked. The construction feels VERY solid, nice heavy device for the size with all joints tight and nothing rattling or moving if you try to flex it at all. The finish is great. Connections all appear to be high-quality, with handy front connections for headphone out (useful if you use this at an office desk) and mic input (I’m not really sure this would get much use, but it’s there!). The rear houses inputs for 2-CH RCA in, COAX in, and an optical (Toslink) input, plus of course there’s the Bluetooth “input” capability. I’ve hooked up an Echo dot to it, which effectively results in a vastly improved Dot since it’s now outputting to real speakers instead of the tiny built-in one. Plus I can stream directly from my phone if I don’t feel like talking to the Echo dot or when/if the dot fails. The speaker outputs are surprisingly nice for something in this class, they’re actual binding post connectors for bare wire or banana plugs, instead of cheap spring-clamp connections.I note that some other reviewers have reported some quirks in the functionality, but for the basic use we’re putting it through, there are no issues and we’re quite happy with it (if my wife can use it without many issues, all is good!).
