Title: Great Cooperative and Zombie game!
Review: It’s not always easy to find a good and easy game to learn that plays on a cooperative basis. This is the perfect game for that. You can make it as easy or as difficult as you would like as well.I’ve played this game with just two people, and with four. It is a lot of fun and we really enjoyed the teamwork that it took to win and lose. Strategising among ourselves was not always easy, but it did pay off. It was also a good game for date night.Definitely recommend this game for those who want a cooperative game and enjoy zombies!

Title: More fun then I thought
Review: I don’t really enjoy games like this. I bought it for my sons birthday and of course I knew I would have to play. It’s a little tricky at first but once you play a couple rounds and get the hang of it it can be a lot of fun. Sometimes the games go to quickly because you die to fast but on the whole this game is fun. Now it’s usually me asking him if he wants to play! Who knew.

Title: Walking Dead The Best Defense Review by Dad’s Gaming Addiction
Review: TWD:TBD – 1-4 Players, Ages 15+, Average Play Time = 45-60 MinutesThere’s a lot of the rules that I won’t cover, but I’ll do my best to touch on a few key points here. For one, there are two different difficulty options and two different modes. The beginner difficulty allows players to talk freely during any part of the round while the expert difficulty limits the communication. Since event cards can be location specific, it pays to be able to plan ahead with everyone else in responding to various threats as they come up. The difference between standard and hardcore is simply that in the case of the latter, players who die are eliminated for good. Dying in standard simply allows you to respawn as a different character. Having different ways to play certainly upped the appeal of this game in my book. While I always encourage communication in cooperative games, expert difficulty made things seem a bit more tense and dramatic.I also liked the fact that drawing for resources contributes to the possibility that you’ll lose the game. As stated above, players are tasked with making sure that NONE of the four decks run out (otherwise, they’ll lose). While fishing for a weapon in the equipment deck might improve your chances in combat (they affect the number of dice you roll and etc.), you’ll also be knowingly reducing that deck’s remaining “hit points”. This forces players to balance their need for help from each deck and weigh the odds a bit based on the loot they currently have in their possession. Trading also becomes a necessity as players may sometimes draw more weapons than they currently need, encouraging mutual cooperation and good leadership with regard to moving people where they need to be to do the most good. All in all, this was an enjoyable cooperative defense game. The drawing of random event cards and resources keeps things chaotic in the sense that you won’t know what’s going to happen next. The art is taken straight from the TV show (screenshots and all), which I don’t mind…though some will no doubt prefer the comic books. I recommend that new players begin in beginner mode but exercise hardcore difficulty…at least, those are the difficulty “settings” that worked well for us. Ulterior motive cards are optional but give players a personal objective to complete so that they can claim partial victory after losing the game, should it happen. While nice, I honestly didn’t see much of a benefit to including them since they didn’t really contribute to winning or losing. It simply added an extra challenge as you often had to “hoard” resources in order to complete these objectives. As TV show board game adaptations go, this one isn’t half bad.

Title: fun game about zombies
Review: A nice game, which iinitially takes some time to fully umderstamd the deeper strategy layers. Played this once yet with 2 persons and soon we were overwhelmed with zombies. Apparantly wrong strategy used in the beginning. I think after playing some more games the strategy would become more clear and more fun to play.

Title: too many rules/directions
Review: Impossible to play! Unless you like those strategy games and have the patience for a literal book of rules, this game is not for you. It was more difficult to understand than Cones of Dunshire from parks & rec! I bought it for my husband who loves the show but this is not a fun, relaxing game. We didn’t even make it to the first play of the game because it was far too complicated.

Title: This game is awesome!
Review: My whole family loves this game! It is great, very entertaining! It is not a simple mindless game like SORRY or something like that, it does take some thought and some strategy but that is what makes it fun! I am not sure why everyone on these reviews thinks it is so difficult to learn, we thought it was quite straight forward!

Title: I really like this game
Review: I really like this game; as others have stated easy mode is very easy and you should win virtually every time. I have now played a solitaire game of it (with the Woodbury expansion) by dealing 2 Event cards to each survivor but not looking at them until it is that survivor’s turn. So I look at the leader’s 2 cards and decide where to move each survivor based only on that knowledge. Then I move to the next survivor, look at their Event cards, decide whether or not to defy the Leader and play 1 of the Event cards. Then I move to the next survivor and do the same thing. This way it is like playing in Hard mode and makes things much more interesting and challenging since I do not know what any survivor’s Event cards are until it is their turn. The game definitely captures the flavor of the show in this mode much more than in Easy mode and I often had 1 or 2 survivors who were not at full health even after consuming 1 food to heal a hit point. I can see myself playing this game a lot.

Title: Great family or party game.
Review: Great game for the whole family to enjoy. We bought this game after I was tired of the children always fighting over who was cheating, winning, taking too long, etc. Either you win as a team or die as a team. I have never seen the show nor have my children but we still enjoy playing this game. Btw- my children that play are 13 and 9.

Review: I am a walking dead fan so was excited to give this as a gift to a friend who was more than a fan than me.However, they were put off by the instructions on the back of the box and had not opened it to play for months.Eventually I opened it and took on the task of reading the instructions. This is not a game you immediately play once opened, the instructions do take some reading but if you set aside time to read thoroughly the game is well worth it. Probably took me 30 mins to read, and some parts re-read, but definitely worth doing.Played several times, all of us love the game. Well made and gets you worried when its the zombies turn to attack! Have had great fun with this. Do not get the ‘oh no’ feeling like I do when someone asks to play monopoly, but instead get quite pleased to play this.
