Title: pretty good but very hard to operate
Review: Having done professional photography for about 5-6 years of my life, using top of the line camera and lenses, I thought that operating this little Kodak, semi-automatic mirrorless simple camera will be easy. I wish my way back to my giat camera and lenses. This is so difficult to use.The camera is good in terms of what it can achieve in such a small size and for the cost, but… it takes you to hold your breath and stop your heart from beating to get a stable enough picture. It seems to be way better at taking videos that photos.I have tried every single setting it offers in every combination. I can suggest the following:1) Don’t even try to use in this semi dark without the flash2) While it sports “macro” feature… treat it as if it never had one…3) If you are trying to get a photo that is sharp, you need to really set it in manual mode. It way over exposes in automatic mode, so basically you need to know enough about everything to set it.4) I found the focus point not very good… there is single focus, multi focus and tracking. The tracking doesn’t track anything… not sure how that would work. The multi focus does select a lot of things on the screen to focus on, but chances are those will be point of anything BUT the ones you want. So then you are left with a single focus point. Might as well just stick to that and learn using that.5) I have done a lot of videos and I find it best for videos.6) For photos of moving objects: nope. The focus is way too slow and by the time you can focus the subject moved and you have to start from all over. The pros:Very tiny and cute. It has playback. The cons:The screen is impossible to see in the sun, so using it daytime for light photos will be hard. It will be a crapshoot what’s in the photo and what it focuses on since you can’t see it.It is slow in focus. Even in the video, it is a snail.Assume you found the focus on the video and hit start and you want to zoom in–don’t even try that. It will immediately be out of focus and it will take some time to find itself–if ever.It picks up audio in the vide… but… the zoom itself makes a noise that you here on the video. That’s odd and annoying. In summary, I uploaded a video of a very windy day and how the birds were eating drops from my bird feeder. This demonstrates a lot of the problems. And it also shows that when it works ok, it’s good…
