Title: I would recommend this magazine
Review: Choice of articles are descent, and the price is excellent, which is why you should expect ads, I get that, and won’t knock it down for that fact. The only reason I knocked it down a star was that I feel they could do a better job sticking a bit closer to the Mechanical namesake. Otherwise, not a bad way to up your knowledge in a understandable and well written format with excellent photos.

Title: Good Magazine, Kindle issues solved
Review: I have been hesitant to download Kindle Magazines because so many are having issues with readability. I finally gave it a go with the .99 cents trial issue of Popular Mechanics. It downloaded fast and looks great. I have a seven inch tablet and can flip through quick and pinch to zoom on any pages i want to read. It looks just like the newsstand version but i dont have to store all the issues. If the pricing is fair i will download more magazines.

Title: Inquiring minds want to know
Review: This may have once been a mechanical engineering – reactor set sort of magazine – but not any more. They have a variety of interesting articles that can challenge you so I recommend people look at it. It is not on the level of Science or Nature, but that is okay at least for me. I can appreciate both

Title: By to a young adult
Review: As a teenager and young adult i subscribed to Popular Mechanics magazine. During my work years I had very little free time to read non technical journals. Now retired I have more time. Reading Popular Mechanics again reminds me of my youth. Wonderful magazine…..full of very interesting stuff.

Title: No Kindle-Specific App
Review: The magazine is a simple PDF-like file. In comparison with WIRED magazine on my Kindle HD, it doesn’t auto-format itself. I can zoom in on any PDF page on my PC, just like on the kindle. So where is the benefit of having a magazine subscription on the Kindle when I can sit at my 27 inch PC screen ? On top of that, they only offer paper+digital for same paper price on the iPad. So they have 3 stars until they invest some programmer $$$ to make the same deal on Kindle.

Title: Failure to deliver
Review: I signed up in March and could not log on in July. PM denied any contact/payment. I figured it might be my fault so I signed up for another year with a month trial. Could not sign in again. PM had no record again. This time I canceled so I am only out the $16.24 that I paid them a few months ago. Their records are obviously faulty and their customer service/response is cursory and ineffective. Farewell PM.

Title: Digital magazines are more convenient than physical copies of a magazine.
Review: Until recently, I would always want a physical copy of any of my magazines. Lately however, the weight of the magazine and having to remember to bring it to read when I get stuck somewhere has made me open to the idea of digital subscriptions. This way I can have something to read no matter where I am. And since I am carrying my phone or tablet or both anyway, I am not carrying any extra weight. Of course Popular Mechanics has been one of my favorite magazines for many years now, so that is also a plus.
