Title: A modern trick-taking classic that lives up to its reputation
Review: This is not a complex, elaborate game that demands your focus and a lengthy dedicated play session. It is a game you play through quickly, back to back. Possibly while chatting idly about other matters.It is, however, a FUN version of that kind of game. It has some room for strategizing, agonizing moments, and clever little maneuverings. It has an amusing and well-realized theme of spudly super heroes and villains, that supports one of the main gimmicks of certain low cards (featuring Potato Man) always beating the very highest cards (featuring the evil Lord Fry).The other (and primary) gimmick, as any cursory examination will tell you, is a “must not follow” rule — meaning you are NOT allowed to play a suit that has already been played this hand. In other words, every hand until the end of a round will feature one of each suit. This little variation from the traditional suit-following of trick taking games switches things up enjoyably and works nicely with the other little mechanisms.If you’re looking for something small, cheap, portable, easy to teach, familiar, and yet a little bit different, with a simple but fun theme, you could do worse than Potato Man.

Title: Great Game!
Review: I’ve only played the two player and 3 player version. I can’t see how 5-player would work with only 4 colors in the game.Unlike other trick takers where you need to follow suit, you have to add a different color than anything previously played.You get a points card with different values based on the color you won with. Such interesting rules! Easy! Fun!

Title: Fun trick-taking game
Review: Fun game for older kids (9+ in our experience) and for adults. Not too complicated so you can start playing in about 15 minutes. Its got a nice balance of strategy and luck to it, and we really enjoy it. Most of our games last between 40-50 minutes. The quality of the cards is good, and the artwork/theme is bright and fun.

Title: Great quality, but….
Review: The cards are not standard in size and the box is slightly too small.I reaally love the look of these cards, so I wanted to sleeve them.Unfortunately, they’re a hair wider and taller than standard Poker or MTG cards, so perfect-fit sleeves don’t fit them.Adding regular sleeves just means the deck doesn’t fit back in the box, because the box is just wide enough to accommodate the cards and nothing else.I really wish publishers put more thought into sleeving. I don’t want to store the game in a separate box just because it won’t fit sleeved.

Title: Good game, quality controls issues.
Review: I like the game quite a bit. But I tried buying it twice and the same card was miscut in both copies, the blue 9. I don’t know if I’ll try a third time. Disappointing.

Review: Haha, thought it would just be a simple, pretty standard fare trick-taker (apart from the must not follow rule), and turns out it was a lot more enjoyable than some more complex ones. Fun and casual enough to sit around and play it. Art is OK, subjective, but i think it’s quirky to give it a thumbs up.Get it!
