Review: I only gave it 4-stars because I only used it one time so far. My first impression is it is a precision item and works as it should. The plunger and threaded end works fine. I’m not a big fan of the vinyl covering on the cable. I think over time it could crack or split, and that would be a BIG disappointment, because I think good camera accessories should last a lifetime! We shall see!

Title: Great value for build quality
Review: Purchased this for my Nikkormat FT series cameras as well as other mechanical cameras that have the threaded shutter buttons. Considering the price point I was expecting something, well, less than quality. Basically good enough to take a few long exposure seascapes with and leave at the hotel without worry. I honestly wasn’t expecting this quality for such a small price. Let’s face it, if you shoot film the prices are ever climbing. Camera prices, film prices, processing prices, even darkroom chemicals and gear. It’s always a balance between how much you want to pay and what you think you can deal with.But this cable is honestly solid. It’s not super long, so be aware of that. But it’s long enough that you’re not face planted onto the camera in a weird position. And with the fairly stout locking feature you can kind of “Set it and forget it” if you’re doing really long night shots. I’m honestly going to buy a few more of these soon just to have extras around.I only gave four stars for durability as these, simply by their nature will wear out. But if you take good care of it, it will reward you with countless shots before the day comes you need to buy a replacement.

Title: Works exactly as described!
Review: I’m now just getting into film/mechanical photography and this works great on my Pentax K1000 and helped me discover that my antique store find, Graflex Graphic 35 rangefinder still works great. I wish the cable was a little bit longer since both of my lenses are 50mm, which is extra tight with a cable this short.

Title: JJC 40 cm black mechanical cable shutter threaded release works well
Review: I got the threaded shutter release for my Fuji X-T3. I’ve been shooting the hummers coming to the feeder, manually setting focus and exposure. These types of shots don’t lend themselves to using the in-camera delayed shutter. Having the extra reach with the 40 cm long cable was handy. I could rest my arm yet be ready for when a hummer came into frame.The action of the cable is smooth. I haven’t needed the locking in the release position as I’m not needing a bulb exposure, but I’ve played with the mechanism and it works well.So far it’s working well. Should things head south, I’ll be back to amend the review.
