Title: Authentic stones
Review: There was a squidlike version of these going around that more knowledgeable users complained were not the correct size or weight. These seem more authentic, between the Korean language on the packaging and their smaller size. It’s still an extremely difficult game, I’ve managed to collect 2 so far! I’m glad I’m not playing for high stakes. The stones rattle when you toss them, which is entertaining. This was a “double pack”, or two sets of 5, but they included 10 random stones that don’t provide two distinct sets because of duplicate colors.

Title: They are great.
Review: This product is great! They are exactly what I was looking for. They are being used to play a traditional Korean game. The game is like the American game of jacks. If you like jacks you should give this product a try!

Title: Fun game; wish pieces were a bit sturdier
Review: Because they go by weight in how many are in a pack, I was a little concerned I might get less than 10 pieces, so I had a nice surprise in that I got 11 rather than 10. While it will vary, I’m sharing what I got just for an example assortment. All of mine are the two-tone, yellow on one side and a color on the other. The ones I have are: four red, two blue, two green, two dark pink, and one light pink. The quality of these surprised me in that I don’t think they’re great quality. However, I’d guess these are standard since they’re designed in Korea, where the game originates. I pretty much immediately moved them to another case since the one they came in is just a thin plastic and a bit small for all of them to fit (possibly because I got 11 instead of 10). My guess for construction, just based on the feel, is that the gonggi pieces are a thin plastic with small balls (or some other object) in the center. They make a neat sound as the interior contents move around while the game is played. The game is fun, and a lot harder than it looks! One thing I like about it is that, unlike its close cousin jacks, it can be played on a soft surface since a piece is thrown up in the air and not bounced. I hope this will help the pieces last longer, too.

Title: Fun childhood game to learn or revisit
Review: This is a great little set to learn how to play this childhood game. I think it’s fascinating how many variants of childhood games there are across the world, and this is great exposure to some of what you would find in South Korea. The pieces are nicely molded and are easy to toss and pick up. It’s a simple game, but it’s a ton of fun to learn and hopefully master before you’re recruited into a childhood-game-for-survival competition!

Title: Fun game
Review: This is a fun game that’s very challenging. It is a lot like jacks with some extra steps at the end. My wife was able to explain the game and it was simple. The size is small, so that makes this very portable. She told me that in Korea you could change the weights to make it lighter or heavier. It’s very addicting though and I’ve enjoyed playing it.

Review: After seeing a Korean game played in Squid game, my son really wanted his own set to play with. They’re weighted so not too light, and they come in 2 sets which meant he could play with his brother! The only thing is there was only 1 blue one so he was a bit miffed that with sets weren’t identical! I don’t think it makes a difference though, and he was still really pleased! They come in a handy little case too which was a bonus! After playing this game my son has really improved his hand to eye coordination, and it’s lovely seeing him off his computer too!
